Thesis : part 1
- 1. Idea: Adult Education vs Technology There are numerous things that we see coming up for kids, that educate them and give them hand on experience in using technology to their benefit. But there are very less efforts made to teach adults about using simple things like computers. My thesis is focused on educating adults and removing the so called fear of technology moreover making technology desirable!
- 2. The Outline: I want to develop an interface that is interactive enough to teach an adult or a new learner the basics of using a particular technology be it starting a computer to using a software. There are places in the world where people don’t have any idea about how to use a simple telephone. For them this kind of education will prove to be beneficial. For this part of the thesis I want to concentrate on developing visual prototypes that can make understanding the basics of using computers easy.
- 3. Why is this Important: It not only empowers them but also bring them closer to there loved ones. It's difficult to accomplish even mundane tasks these days without encountering some form of technology. With growing distances all of us living away from home at one point or other know that the only perfect way to communicate is through e-mails and voice chats.
- 4. Travel: I Believe this project needs a lot of work and time. This is definitely not just a classroom project but has a huge capacity to travel. There are people who are working towards making technology approachable and acceptable to adults. And my ideas and thoughts will continue to grow as I explore more into this topic. This is project is important to me and I believe it is to everyone who is not just away from home but understands how important it is to know the basics of using technology in the present scenario.
- 5. Why? It is an art to impart education, I believe every individual has a right to know the new changes in the field of technology and use it for their betterment. Education is one way of bringing a positive change in the society. Working on this project may generate an idea which might be beneficial to someone and create a technically and emotionally strong individual.
