You can accompany songs in compound meter by playing a 3/4 pattern twice per measure, or use 3/4 patterns in 6/8, 9/8 or 12/8 songs. For songs in cut time, you can double the time values of 4/4 patterns so each lasts two measures. This document provides a chart of numbered strum and pick patterns referred to in the book, indicating fingering and down/up strokes.
