This document discusses the role of African animation ('afrimation') in enhancing the preservation and promotion of Africa's cultural heritage through digital technology. It highlights six contemporary indigenous animation projects and analyzes challenges faced by Africa's animation industry, while advocating for the development of local content as a means to achieve socio-economic advancement. The paper aims to explore how a revitalized focus on Africa's cultural assets can contribute to improving the digital content landscape and fostering an African Renaissance.
