- 1. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: The Zero 88 Sirius 24 & 48CH Description: The Zero 88 lighting desk is a fairly simple desk to use with 24 channels or faders, which you can change to 48 channels. This allows you to control the level of light the light outputs. The desk is able to hold 90 memories, which are lighting states you have set up that you are able to playback on cue. This desk as the ability to program chases and change the direction the lights chase moves in by the arrows on the desk. The desk also requires a Key to program and run lighting cues. In comparison to other desks this desk is an analogue desk, which is does not have the ability to control DMX lights. Key Components & Accessories • Power Cable (Kettle Lead) o This is essential as it powers the desk allowing you to control the lights. Without it you have no power, which means no light. • The Control Cable o The Control Cable, is a key cable you should have as it sends the data to the dimmer communicating with it telling it what percentage of power to output to the light and as a result controls the level of the light. • Dimmer o Please Note the desk will not work without a dimmer.
- 2. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: Source 4jr (Profile) 575W Description: This light is used for special effects and gobos as it supports them and also and iris. This light has a beam angle of 25° -‐ 50°, which is wider than the CCT Minuette Profile that only has a beam of 15° -‐ 30°, which is something you would need to consider before rigging the light because using this light could have a completely different effect compared to the CCT Minuette Profile. This light also uses an iris that can control the size of the beam without changing it shape. Key Components & Accessories • G Clamp o A G Clamp is the clamp that holds the light to the rig. This is the best type of clamp as it adds the most security to the light lowering the risk of the light falling. § The G Clamp attaches to the lights handle as you can see below. • Safety Chain o A Safety Chain is an essential part of being able to rig this light as it is the only safety measure in place in case the G Clamp breaks, which will protect the audience and performers below. § The safety chain attaches to the handles of the light and wraps around the lighting rig (Bar). • Bulb o The Bulb is the most important part of the light as it is the produces the light that you will use. o The bulb in this light is a 757W HPL bulb, which is brighter and clearer than the CCT Minutette Profiles halogen 650W. This is something you need to keep in mind when you are choosing lights. • Iris o The iris is an option that you can put in place to make control the size of the beam to make it narrower or wider. • Gobo o A gobo is a metal plate that is placed in front of the light to show a certain image or shape, that is on the plate, and as a result the light projects it on to the floor or object for example. • Gel Frame o The Gel Frame holds the piece of polycarbonate or polyester in place in front of the light. The Gel Frame also prevents the gel from melting as it protects it from the heat. • Shutters o Shutters act as barn doors and block the light from parts of the stage so you can light different areas on stage.
- 3. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: Selecon Acclaim Fresnel 650W Description: This Fresnel is used along side the 1K Fresnel’s to fill in and give more coverage, on stage. The Selecon Fresnel has a soft edge light, which allows you to use it in generic situations, as it does not clearly show there is a stage light being used. This light is also to light stages that don’t have a lot of power, the reason for this is that they have a lower watt bulb, than the 1K and so they can have more lights, as a result covering more of the stage. This light is newer than the CCT Minuette Fresnel, however they use the same bulb. This light has a beam angle of 6° -‐ 60°. This is the best type of clamp as it adds the most security to the light lowering the risk of the light falling. § The G Clamp attaches to the lights handle as you can see below. • Safety Chain o A Safety Chain is an essential part of being able to rig this light as it is the only safety measure in place in case the G Clamp breaks, which will protect the audience and performers below. § The safety chain attaches to the handles of the light and wraps around the lighting rig (Bar). • Bulb o The Bulb is the most important part of the light as it is the produces the light that you will use. • Barn Doors (Flaps) o Barn Doors (Flaps) are used to direct light to one area of the stage isolating that area so the light only hits it. • Gel Frame o The Gel Frame holds the piece of polycarbonate or polyester in place in front of the light. The Gel Frame also prevents the gel from melting as it protects it from the heat. § The Gel Frame goes behind the Barn Doors when they are attached, however you don’t need to have the Barn Doors on to use a gel.

Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: Pin Spot 30W Description: This light, is mainly used for lighting small objects and mirror balls as it has a small curricular beam, generates a just enough light to cover the object. With the light being small, this means you can get the light close to the object without blocking or taking to much space on the rig. Allowing you to put more lights up for the show. However this light would be unsuitable for much else than listed above and this light does not support gel frames and barn doors. This light can be operated by a 13amp or 15 amp plug as it has such a low watt bulb. Key Components & Accessories • G Clamp o A G Clamp is the clamp that holds the light to the rig. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: Par Can Description: The par can has a strong beam of light that you have no control over where the light goes except the direction it heads in. As this light does not have barn doors so you can’t block the light from different areas of the stage. This light is used as backlight and sidelight. This light is often used in shows as part of a change and has a beam angle of 50°. Key Components & Accessories • G Clamp o A G Clamp is the clamp that holds the light to the rig. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: LED Par Can Description: This light, the LED Par Can, is used for many different uses, however it is mainly used for three different reasons for backlight, effects and splashes of colour, the 3 main colours in the light are RGB or red, green and blue. This light is small and generates little to no heat at all, which is good as they can be placed almost anywhere. Another thing about the light is that it can be controlled by DMX so you can change the colours and levels from the lighting desk. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: DTS Scena Fresnel (1K) Description: The DTS 1K Fresnel is a light for general cover of the stage, however this light is normally mistaken for having a longer range because it has a brighter, 1K bulb compared to the 650W Fresnel, but that is not the case as the bulb may be brighter it does not mean it will travel further. This is due to the lens in the light which channels the light towards the stage or object. The 1K Fresnel is also the main light that theatres use to light the stage that would be supported by a Par-‐Can to fill the spaces in between the other lights to add colour etc… The 1K has a beam angle of 12° -‐ 53°. This is the best type of clamp as it adds the most security to the light lowering the risk of the light falling. § The G Clamp attaches to the lights handle as you can see below. • Safety Chain o A Safety Chain is an essential part of being able to rig this light as it is the only safety measure in place in case the G Clamp breaks, which will protect the audience and performers below. § The safety chain attaches to the handles of the light and wraps around the lighting rig (Bar). • Barn Doors (Flaps) o Barn Doors (Flaps) are used to direct light to one area of the stage isolating that area so the light only hits it. § The barn doors attach to the front of the light via little clips as you can see on the image below. • Gel Frame o The Gel Frame holds the piece of polycarbonate or polyester in place in front of the light. The Gel Frame also prevents the gel from melting as it protects it from the heat. § The Gel Frame goes behind the Barn Doors when they are attached, however you don’t need to have the Barn Doors on to use a gel. • 1K Halogen Bulb o The Bulb is the most important part of the light as it is the produces the light that you will use. o This light has a certain bulb, which is a 1000W halogen bulb.
- 8. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: CCT Minuette Profile Description: This light, CCT Minuette Profile, would be used for more specific lighting and special effects. As you can use gobos and as it is a profile it has shutters for more detailed lighting on stage. For example you could use it from a spot light to lighting a piece of set that needs lighting up. This profile has a beam angle of 15° to 30°. This is smaller than the Source 4jr Profile and this is something you would need to remember when you were choosing your lights. This is the best type of clamp as it adds the most security to the light lowering the risk of the light falling. § The G Clamp attaches to the lights handle as you can see below. • Safety Chain o A Safety Chain is an essential part of being able to rig this light as it is the only safety measure in place in case the G Clamp breaks, which will protect the audience and performers below. § The safety chain attaches to the handles of the light and wraps around the lighting rig (Bar). • Bulb o The Bulb is the most important part of the light as it is the produces the light that you will use. o The bulb in this light is a halogen bulb, which creates a orange glow on the light. Making the bulb look warm and more natural for scenes in houses etc… • Iris o The iris is an option that you can put in place to make control the size of the beam to make it narrower or wider. • Gobo o A gobo is a metal plate that is placed in front of the light to show a certain image or shape, that is on the plate, and as a result the light projects it on to the floor or object for example. • Gel Frame o The Gel Frame holds the piece of polycarbonate or polyester in place in front of the light. The Gel Frame also prevents the gel from melting as it protects it from the heat. • Shutters o Shutters act as barn doors and block the light from parts of the stage so you can light different areas on stage.

Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: CCT Minuette PC (Pebble Convex) Description: This light looks the same as the CCT Minuette Fresnel, however it is very different as it creates a completely different effect as the lens in this light has a different texture to the light, when it is on stage. Another key difference is the bulb in this light as it is a 500W not a 650W bulb. With the lens having a pebble affect it a shaper edge around the beam. This light has a beam of 7° – 47°. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: CCT Minuette Fresnel 650w Description: This Light provides a general cover light to the stage, which can be controlled by barn doors (Flaps) on the front of the light. Colour can also be added by the use of gels. Which is a piece of polycarbonate or polyester, which is cut to fit the light giving you are desired colour. Another feature of this light is that it can be focused, to increase or decrease the beam, one thing you should not about this light is that it has a soft edge. The beam angle is 18° – 57°. - 11. Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: 3 Strand Flood Description: The 3 Strand Flood is used for two reasons mainly in music gigs as strobe and backlight. Then on stage it is used as backlight for all the stage and to light the cyclorama in the background as it produces a lot of light over a large area at a small distance.
