Creek Indians They used to live in Georgia and Alabama. Now they live in Oklahoma. A little bit still live in Alabama. They had summer homes and winter homes. Summer homes had no walls and kept them cool. Winter homes had walls and kept them warm.
What They Ate Corn Squash Beans  Deer  Wild Boar
Confederacy More than 300 years ago the whole Creek Nation had more than 50 towns.  The new U.S government took most of their land and forced them to move to Oklahoma. The trail that the Creek took to Oklahoma is called “The Trail of Tears”.
Creek Today Today, many generations of a Creek family live together. The elders teach the children Creek values and beliefs. Today, the Creek Nation has a three part government. They have a National council, Principal and a second chief and Judges.
The Green Corn Ceremony Poskita Thokko is the beginning of the New year for the Creeks. It is held during ripening of the New corn crop. It is celebrated by telling stories, dancing ,singing, forgiving and renewing  friendships.
