TomTom is a leading provider of navigation solutions and digital maps. Founded in 1991, it launched its first PDA navigation software in 1996 and first GPS-linked car navigation PDA product in 2002. By 2004, it went public on Euronext Amsterdam. It has grown significantly, employing over 3,400 people in 2008 compared to 1,340 in 2007. While 2007 was its best year until then, the 4th quarter of 2008 was also strong, indicating the company remains healthy with increasing revenue.
