- 3. We used Adobe Premiere Plus to create our film opening construction. Skills we developed – We had never used Adobe Premiere before starting this course so we had lots to learn about the software. We learnt how to import videos onto the program and alter the lengths of the videos. We also changed the sizes of some of the shots and cropped out things towards the edge of shot. We also added effects such as making some shots black and white. As well as this we also added text to the opening (titles) and moved these to the right places on the screen. What we need to improve - We need to make the transitions smoother so that they are not as jumpy like they are in some places. Especially between different shots in the same scene.
- 4. We used Prezi in our evaluation to present one of our question’s answer. Skills we developed – We learnt how to create a presentation in Prezi and include different things such as pictures and videos. What we need to improve - We need to try and be more creative with the layout of our presentation. We also need to try and be more efficient as it takes a very long time to design a presentation in Prezi.
- 5. We used Blogger to present all of our research and planning. Skills we developed – We learnt how to create a blog and blog posts. We them learnt how to embed videos from YouTube and embed presentations from various different online presentation programs (Emaze, SlideShare). We also learnt how to add tags to our blog posts, insert images. What we need to improve - The layout of our blogs could be improved to make them more interesting and original. We should have also ensured that our posts were in the right order.
- 6. We used Emaze to present some of our PowerPoint presentations. Skills we developed – We learnt how to convert Microsoft PowerPoint files into Emaze presentations. We also learnt how to create presentations directly onto Emaze. What we need to improve - We need to try and be more creative with our presentations and make them more interesting.
- 7. We used Microsoft PowerPoint to present our research and planning. Skills we developed – We learnt how to export presentations onto online presentation sites (Emaze and SlideShare). What we need to improve - We should try to make our presentations more interesting and creative by using unique ways of presenting our work.
- 8. We used Adobe Photoshop to create our film poster. Skills we developed – We learnt how to change the colours of some parts of the photograph but leave some unedited. We also learnt how to resize photographs. We added text to the poster as well and moved it around the screen so that it is in the right places. What we need to improve – We should ensure that the text is visible at all times because in some places it is a little bit difficult to read.
- 9. We used Survey Monkey to get feedback on our film opening and gain some information on the type of people that would be interested in watching our film. This was used to answer the evaluation question 4. Skills we developed – We were able to make a survey despite having never used the program before. We also learnt how to use the different links to share the survey. What we need to improve - To improve our survey we should have added some more questions to gain more information on our audience.
- 10. We used YouTube to share our videos and to find videos to contribute to our research. Skills we developed – We learnt how to how to collect an embed code so that we can add videos onto our blogs. We also learnt how to upload videos onto YouTube and how to add annotations onto our uploaded videos. What we need to improve - We should have added keyword tags to our video so that it is easier to find on YouTube.
- 11. We used Wix to create a website to promote our film. Skills we developed – How to design a website- change the background and rearrange the layout. We also learn how to add different features onto our website and also add images. What we need to improve - To improve we should try to make the website a bit more creative and make it look more professional.
- 12. We used Facebook to promote our film. Skills we developed – We learnt how to make a page on Facbook that people can visit. What we need to improve - Use more effective tags so that our page is easier to find. Also, we should add more information onto our page.
- 13. We used SlideShare to share the presentations that we made on PowerPoint. Skills we developed – We learnt how to upload PowerPoint presentations onto SlideShare. We also are now able to collect embed codes from the website so that we can share the presentations onto our blog. What we need to improve - We should add more effective tags so that it is easier to find our presentations.
- 14. We used a camera to film our film opening and also to film the talk about our storyboard. Skills we developed – We learnt how to effectively frame people and objects into a shot and how to use varied camera angles. We also worked with reflections in a mirror and so needed to make sure we had everything we needed in the shot and not the camera or tripod. What we need to improve – Some of our shots are slightly out of focus. Therefore, we need to make sure that all of our shots are clear before using them in our opening.
- 15. We used a tripod to keep the camera steady and control the movement of the camera. Skills we developed – We were able to vary the height of the camera so that we could get both high angle and low angle shots. What we need to improve – When tracking or moving the camera on the tripod when filming we sometimes did not do this smoothly enough and so the footage was a little bit ‘jumpy’.
- 16. We used our mobile phones o communicate our ideas to each other when we were not together. We also used our phones to arrange times to meet and do filming. As well as this, the photos used for our film posters were also taken on our phones. We also downloaded the Blogger app so that we could update our blog whenever we got a free chance. Skills we developed – We learnt how to use Blogger on our phones- which took some time as the format is very different to that on a laptop. We also learnt how to create a group chat. What we need to improve – We need to improve our communication skills on our group chat as many times it was difficult to get everyone to reply to important messages promptly.
