with forethought and
determination, we work
independently and
cooperatively to explore
new ideas and innovative
strategies. We are
resourceful and resilient in
the face of challenges and
change.

to learn independently and

and we are willing to
grow from the
experience.

exploring knowledge
across a range of

with issues and ideas
that have local and
global significance.

creative thinking
skills to analyse and
take responsible
action on complex
problems. We
exercise initiative in
making reasonable,
ethical decisions.

We thoughtfully
consider the world and
our own ideas and
experience. We work to
understand our
strengths and
weaknesses in order to
support our learning
and personal
development.

Editor's Notes

  • #2: We want our students to be unafraid, to try new things and to fail if necessary. We hope they will stand up for their beliefs.
  • #3: We try to develop the whole child, the whole person, whilst understanding and supporting their individual passions.
  • #4: We hope they will see the World, and it’s problems, around them and try to solve those problems.
  • #5: Integrity is a little used word that means so much and is hugely positive.
  • #6: Communication is not just talking or presenting but being able to listen and understand the message of others.
  • #7: To facilitate finding the joy in learning and exploring for their students is the drive for all teachers.
  • #8: Being aware of themselves allows them to value others, and the act of valuing helps growth.
  • #9: Although we reach for the big ideas, we encourage the depth of content to truly understand them.
  • #10: Critical thinking is one of the most important for me. We have moved beyond accepting what we are told from a single source, even in the classroom, and we hope to instill in our students the desire to see behind the message, beyond that front page and to weigh what they find.
  • #11: Again, the importance of reflection cannot be over-stated. To explore and judge your actions and your methods and not be afraid to modify them in future.
