This document summarizes a group project analyzing forest change detection in Makwanpur District, Nepal between 2010 and 2021 using Landsat 8 imagery. The group detected a net increase of 5,012 hectares of forest area over the study period. A major land use change was the conversion of 3,121 hectares of agricultural land to forest. The results show positive growth in forest and decreases in agricultural land, bare land, and water bodies. The largest change was the conversion of 13,910 hectares of agricultural land to forest between 2010 and 2021.
