Lecture: Conclusion of Chapter 5 and 6 
1. Wealthy African-Americans were seldom coming back 
to support their racial-identity in communities. 
2. We should monopolize on businesses that service the 
needs of others--whether it be to sell refreshments or 
own a laundromat. 
3. Skills learned as an intern or short-time training should 
be valued, but not considered of the higher learning or 
college experience. 
4. The ultimate vision of a functioning household is to 
learn how to make a living.
Activities

1. Most business start-up fail because they do not consider all 
funding or community needs. True or False. 
2. Should white business leaders help businesses of color to 
succeed? If no, would such help be productive in struggling 
economic times? 
3. Should community economics be discussed in churches? 
Churches of color? 
4. Do you participate at your local places of worship? Why or why 
not? 
5. G&T student participant: List at least five business magazines or 
published books that are currently available. 
6. Ferguson, MO: How many entrepreneurial programs does your 
community offer to help your larger companies?
