This project allowed me to gather data together, assess authensity,analse facts,apply reality facts,envistigate evidence and sources, discuss findings and draw conclusion. Psychopathology is linked with cognitive dysfunctioning which may cause deviant and distress to learners in such a manner that they may attempts to respond in their unpleasant situation or feeling by becoming a danger to themselves or others (suicidal or bully). That why we have theorist who evaluated this subject by giving 4 ds classes of abnormal behavior.According to my school experience symptoms I observed in school visit includes less memory,forgetfulness,learning difficulty,low IQ than normal,ADHD and epilepsy. So,according to specialist in cognitive functioning explains the term of psychopathology as mental disorder. They put emphasis on mental illness. This means that ‘how we feel=depression’ How we think=chemical imbalance=delusions How we behave=aggressive That is why I'm not convinced that it is our abnormal mental state that contributes to psychopathology.
- 5. My view of psychopathology definition It is found in the Greek history that the word psychopathology means suffering soul. I highly agree, imagining a suffering soul has no normality's and peace it is always questionable and have no answers. Theorists and philosophers like Plato support this viewpoint as they have proven that the mind,spirit,bodyand soul work together simaltenously. I BELIEVE THAT THE SOUL IS UNOBSERVABLE AND UNTOUCHABLE BUT IT CONTROLS MOST SENSES. If the soul is suffering and unstable the abnormal behavior occurs and there is no harmony. I find out that The old era people were more religious based and belief in evil spirit possessing a soul.Im not sure how evil acts expain abnormal behavior, how about crazy or insane people roaming around the streets and eating from dustbins like animals without taking a bath. Is that a normal human behavior,ofcourse not it is mental illness not evil spitrit.
- 6. Hippocrates theories Raised an important and powerful insight to observe the mind for answers. His views influenced mental illness research in a number of ways. It is now known as a scientism study of cognitive behavior to move away from religious-based bias that can not be proven to be true facts. Taking a look at the contribution of modern psychiatrist helped at developing models,interventions,theories,manuals,and diagnosis criteria that fits individual’s symptoms rather than forcing the theory to explain the illness.

They stated that “most of us think of psychopathology as a behavior and experience that are not just statistical abnormal but also maladaptive…It refers to statistical norms and deviations but to the effectiveness or inefectivenessfor the person.If the behavior helps the person deal with challenges and cope with stress and accomplish their goals then we say the behavior is more or less adaptive. - 8. My comment This statement demonstrates that there’s no one with an explicit correct knowledge to correct symptoms we just have to try appealing criteria. For example there are behaviors that are considered as mental illness by experts, specialist and theorists, which I believe that they are inability to control involuntary and internal behavioral personaliy.For instance,taken from teachers standpoint, a learner suffering from ADHD known as disorder I don’t agree I think its of having short-span to pay attention which has to do with personality. A psychologist in Boston approves with me as he classifies ADHD as a medical disorder and learning disability but not a mental illness
- 9. Treatment Many treatment were established to understand and cure mental illness as a disorder. CBT (Cognitive and behavioral therapy)is one the treatment suggested by pioneer and psychoanalysis Freud Sigmund Freud further investigated mental disorders and grew interest in treatment approaches as he introduced psychotherapy (A first clinical method of treating a patient through talking therapy).I recommend that this approach can be implemented in schools as learners may be able to deal with many issues if they open up about their experiences or something bothering them.
- 10. Beck A.T theory Preferably in school environment is Aaron T Beck’s theory because it assess all parts involved in mental illness. How can we treat mental illness in schools without isolating learners It was found that abnormal cognitive patterns are a cause factor of mental illness by many reseachers.As a practicing teacher I can also suggest theory approach to deal with learners with mental disorder as I observe,assess,follow uo,envistigate and involve a suffering learner through communication to draw a hypothesis and intervention programs.Alternatively,referral to special school,accommodation diversity through the use of adaptive, modern and flexible resources. In addition, offer psychological support services such as group support.Psychopathtic learnersare not mentally ill because they don’t exhibit crazy person behaviors but rather an inability to to use their mental schemas.They might be unable to solve problems,think critical, but be creative.These learners are more of practical then thinking personality. Mental pain may cause affect/mood disorder and schizophrenia.

It is seen as unacceptable behavior but the fact is it is free soul expressions.
