Music Theory Unit 1 Music Notation
Treble and Bass Clef Treble Clef curls around the second line of the staff, indicating the location of G The Bass clef has two dots on either side of the fourth line of the staff indicating the location of F
Names of Notes Names of the notes on the Treble and bass  Staves
Notes above and below the Staff In Treble Clef, C and D are written just below the staff In Bass Clef, B and C are written just above the staff (Do you think there’s a connection?)
Ledger Lines Small lines called  ledger lines  are used to extend the range of the staff.  These lines are used for notes that are above and below the five lines of the treble and bass staves
The Grand Staff When the treble and bass staves are combined, they make the  grand staff.  The two staves are joined be a straight line and a curved brace or bracket
