Example: I was going to do my homework last night, but I fell asleep before
I started to do it!

but didn’t do for some reason?
Example: I was going (planning) to lay in the sun, but I couldn’t since the
weather was too cold!
 What is something that you were going (planning) to do before you came
to the US, but weren’t able to do for some reason?
Example: I was going to buy gifts for my teachers, but I just had too many
other things to get done.
