- #5: As you can see the only difference between design mode and normal presentation mode is the ability to see the Components that can be added to the Workboard the Select properties button and the Hide view area. Properties only appears once you move in to Design mode as the 5th icon on the side panel
- #6: In the Application you can change the language that you display Necto in to your own language You can change your applications settings (only if you are an Admin can you create new Skins and Save them), application setting will change the look and feel of the whole application for you. You may disable the animations if required (Please note that the Animations do not add any work to the Necto GUI so information will not be displayed faster without them). Some of the items in the screenshot are Greyed out, to activate them just set ‘Inherit properties from skin’ to be ‘No’ During class time the instructor will cover all items or if this is delivered remotely and you have questions please mail Support@panorama.com
- #7: Workboard Properties Any items that you change in this Workboard section only apply to the current workboard You can increase (or decrease) the Workboard size to move beyond the boarders of the screen You may add javascript to the Workboard which can utilize our API’s (covered in an Advanced tutorial) By default slicing used on the previous Workboard will be incorporated to this one if as a user you move from one to another, though this may be disabled on a Workboard by Workboard basis Actions can be added to a Workboard (Covered later).
- #8: Component Properties Each component has it’s own set of properties just affecting it within the Workboard. You can create actions like drill to another Workboard or open a URL, you can change the title text and even add placeholders to it. You can set a component to individually refresh, a use case for this is that it runs from a different data source that updates faster than the main data source of the Workboard
- #9: You may add new buttons to components and give these buttons actions based on Javascript, URL’s basically anything.
- #10: An Action can be added to a Workboard or View and a number of other places Actions can be: Move to another Workboard Open a Browser with a URL Execute a JavaScript The context can be Title (of Workboard or component) X Axis Y Axis Both Axis Cells A default caption is produced but you can modify this on your own Captions will appear in the Workboard as underlined items (if single) or as menu items (if there is already a menu or if there are multiple actions defined).
