This document summarizes a study comparing the responses of two Medicago truncatula genotypes (108-R and Jemalong A17) to salt stress. The study found that Jemalong A17 was more tolerant to salt stress, with less reduction in root growth and nodulation under salt conditions. A gene expression analysis using a stress-related macroarray identified several genes that were more highly expressed in Jemalong A17, even without stress, potentially contributing to its greater tolerance.
