Eligibility
• All LOOP companies that have recorded activity data using the
online platform “GHG-Easy” in LOOP assessment areas for a
minimum of 9 months between July 2014 and June 2015 are eligible
to take part in the third party verification.

Pre-visit preparation
• Verification arrangement
– Pre-assessment Questionnaire
– List of qualified verifiers
• BEC, BV, CLPE, DNV, ITS, Reset, SGS, TUV
• Verification fee: $10,500 (1 man day)
– Verifiers may request the preview of the GHG-Easy reports and
previous LOOP verification report.
– Rundown & invite appropriate parties
• Invite appropriate parties to attend specific timeslots in on-site
assessment according to the itinerary (senior management,
property management office, related staff).
• Reserve a meeting room and set up a computer/ laptop with the
Internet access and a projector
– Register the verification date with WWF

Pre-visit preparation
• Define LOOP boundary
– Physical location of the boundary
– Floor area of this boundary
– No. of staff in this boundary
– Are all the staff in this boundary and office-based?
• Data integrity
– Period (2014-07 to 2015-06)
Equivalent to emission period (1 June 2013 – 31 May 2014)
– Min. 9 months of data is required for verification
– If your company has participated in LOOP verification before, you are
strongly encouraged to keep 12 months record instead of 9 months of
record.
– Ensure data in all worksheets are within the same period
– Identify abnormal record by reviewing online reports

• Prepare necessary supporting documents
– The supporting document is the raw data for data input
– e.g. electricity bills, travel records, IT equipment records, etc
• Other logistic
– Reserve a meeting room for a whole day on-site verification
– Set up a company with Internet access
– Login to GHG-Easy for verification

On-site verification
• Verification is performed
according to the itinerary
• Data accuracy in GHG-Easy
• Observation (Office tour)
• Staff Interview

Post-assessment
• Correct the wrong data identified during verification asap
• Send the screenshots of revised Total Carbon Emissions by Source,
Carbon Emissions Summary, and Carbon Emissions by Individual
Source, Trend Analysis (10 individual sources) to verifier for report
preparation.
• Verifier should complete the audit report within 2 weeks time (upon
all supporting documents are collected), and send the report to both
LOOP member and WWF.
• Review and the report when you receive it.
• Follow up with the verifier if you have any questions about report.
• For CarbonSmart Applicant, the complete LOOP report should be
submitted to HKPC by end of July.

records the consumption in May)

other socio-environmental award schemes
Awardees of HKAEE environmental labels will
receive 2.5 credits in the LOOP labelling verification
Verification of Carbon Reduction Certificate and LOOP
labelling scheme can take place in one single audit process
by the same qualified service provider.
HKCSS Caring Company Scheme recognized LOOP
companies as fulfilling the criteria in Caring for the
Environment adjudication.

Local Schemes Benefits
Low-carbon Office
Operation Programme
(LOOP)
Applicable to the awardees of HKAEE - Servicing and
Trading Sector for non-SMEs, Servicing Industry Sector for
SMEs and Trading Sector for SMEs :
•Awardee of Gold, Silver and Bronze will receive 5 points and
awardee of Certificate of Merit will receive 2.5 points in LOOP
labeling verification.
Awardees of the Wastewi$e Certificate and Energywi$e
Certificate will receive 2.5 points in the LOOP labelling
verification (Maximum credits gained in LOOP verification are 5
points or 5% of total credits).
Awardees of Type 2 – Office-based organisations / operational
units within Hong Kong of the Carbon Reduction
Certificate will be recognised as having fulfilled the major
requirement on LOOP labelling verification 8.

HKCSS Caring Company Scheme recognized LOOP companies as fulfilling the criteria in Caring for the Environment adjudication.
  • 33. 33 Mutual Recognition with HKAEE Local Schemes Benefits Low-carbon Office Operation Programme (LOOP) Applicable to the awardees of HKAEE - Servicing and Trading Sector for non-SMEs, Servicing Industry Sector for SMEs and Trading Sector for SMEs : •Awardee of Gold, Silver and Bronze will receive 5 points and awardee of Certificate of Merit will receive 2.5 points in LOOP labeling verification. Awardees of the Wastewi$e Certificate and Energywi$e Certificate will receive 2.5 points in the LOOP labelling verification (Maximum credits gained in LOOP verification are 5 points or 5% of total credits).
