In the traditional system of instruction, the learners had to live with the teachers for acquiring the competencies on a full time basis. Later, Chalk and Talk was a dominating methodology of instruction, as it covers a large dosage of content, in a limited time, in the mass educational scenario. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME To familiarize the faculty members with the importance of scientifically designing technology enabled classroom and its effective implementation. To identify and select from an array of techniques and tools for effective use in the classroom. To improve the active learning of the students and engage them through interactive learning content. To understand the effective way of communicating the content to the students and making them to realize it as a learning experience. To be aware of the various online resources & OER’s available and customize them for further personalize teaching and learning. To provide hands-on training on various FOSS tools. Overall objective of the programme is to share ideas and insights, by interacting with other trainees, and learn from each other throughout the programme.
- 4. 4 STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMME Advance Certificate Course in “IT, Web Designing, English Communication Skills & Pedagogy” is structured into three major modules. Course is proper blend of lecture, demonstration and field studies in preexisting related courses (text or lecture-note based). Course explores the subject through available ICT resources, development, impact and management. The first module introduces the vision for learning; international and national policies for education. This module provides an analysis of policies and visions for educational systems and lifelong learning. Specific focus will be on the role of ICT in these policies. The participants will make an analysis and compare the education system, methodology and policies based on global practice as well as relevant policies of the UNESCO. The second module will provide knowledge of using ICT to promote new pedagogical approaches in the transition from teaching to learning, as well as knowledge about how to use leadership and communication skills to handle change in the organization. The module will provide understanding of how ICT may influence the planning and administration within the educational sector and tools for impact analysis of the cost of ICT. This module also throw light on the Interactive learning environments and digital inclusion This module will give the participants a deeper knowledge of the new forms of interactivity which is offered by ICT. It will cover a number of different models for learning. The module will also deal with the “digital divide” and provide exposures and methods for achieving digital inclusion. The final third module will focus on powerfulness of effective communication and its role in development of teacher. The communication in all forms is dealt in details. The participants will be involved in the Change Project relevant to their country. - 5. 5 TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND ASSESSMENT The teaching methodology includes face to face lectures by resource persons followed by discussions, blended method of theme paper presentation, experience sharing, individual and group tasks and case studies presentation. Field visits will also be arranged for the training purpose. In addition to this participants need to make presentation about their country education system and vision for their progress. The learning activities in the each module are distributed in such a way to ensure the achievement of the learning objectives in a flexible manner. Project work evaluation. The deadlines for submitting exercises and assignments will be discussed in the respective lecturer class and module. We’ll study through 14 documentaries and infer based on the examination and discussion about the same.
