The document presents a study on the design and simulation of a three-dimensional frequency selective surface (3D FSS) that demonstrates band reject characteristics with multiple transmission zeros and a pseudo-elliptic response, aimed at enhancing out-of-band radio wave rejection. Two designs are explored: the first achieves dual-band band-rejection using a single shorting via, while the second improves performance with an additional shorting via to refine the frequency rejection and elliptic behavior. The design employs a 2D periodic array of shielded microstrip lines, leveraging software simulation to validate its application for antenna sub-reflectors and spatial filters.
