3rd sequence questionnaire
- 1. Please answer the following questions after creating your 1st sequence, your inciting incident, your 2nd and 3rd sequence (= ca. the first 3 minutes of your piece): 1. Does you first sequence have a beginning (low tension/visual intensity), a middle (climax, high tension/visual intensity) and a short end (low tension/visual intensity)? 2. Have you informed your audience about the following: the time and the location of your story and your protagonist? 3. Are you interested in your character? Will your audience be interested in your character? 4. Have you started your performance with a hook that excites your audience? 5. Is your first sequence ca. 1 minute long? 6. Is your first sequence followed by an inciting incident? 7. Does your inciting incident bring a more intense dynamic to the piece? 8. Is your inciting incident strong enough to involve your audience emotionally into your story? 9. Can your inciting incident be topped by actions leading to a climax (or could it be that your inciting incident is too strong)? 10. Does you second sequence have a beginning (low tension/visual intensity), a middle (climax, high tension/visual intensity) and a short end (low tension/visual intensity)? 11. Is the climax of your second sequence more dynamic and intense than your inciting incident? 12. Do your second and your third sequence show the audience new and more exciting material/information than during any previous sequences? 13. Is your piece so far ca. 3 minutes long? 14. Can you add 3 more sequences (3 min) that will continuously increase the intensity of your piece until a climax will be reached? 15. Is your performance action driven and carried by visuals? You should be able to answer all questions with yes. If not, you need to review the part of your performance that the particular question refers to.
