Working Title:
Fantasy Fight
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience: Obviously, this game is targeted towards the fans of RPG games or those who play a
wider range of games that will like the look of my game and perhaps give it a try. I think the game
will most likely appeal to the age group young teenagers to young you adults (14-21). Because I
named Pokémon as a similar existing product, I worry people may think it is as PG as that series,
instead my game is intended to be more serious and for older audiences, like other franchises
such as Final Fantasy and Undertale. Personally, I would say my work is most likely to be
appealing to customers in the balanced group; as it a mixture of achieving people and people who
want to do well along with socially conscious people who will do the right thing when given a
choice
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words) Throughout my last college year I have gained even more
knowledge and experience that will hopefully help me for the rest of my life if I become part of the
media industry. As well as work, skills with Photoshop can make for a hobby or just a good past
time. Other helpful tricks I have learned are on programs such as premiere pro and InDesign which
will furthermore aid me in producing work in the future. My advergame was a good experiment with
animation and a change of pace from past projects
Review your progress throughout the year- what video game and Photoshop skills and knowledge
have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept for my own video game creation was originally a 2D first person shooter, taking
inspiration from games like Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem but after producing my experimental
advergame I discovered making a FPS will be extremely difficult in that small amount of time, so I
changed my plan and instead headed towards an RPG. Now with an achievable goal I set out to
do research and make my RPG. The first thing I plan to do and what I think would be easiest is the
battle sequence, I have a clear image in my head already of how I want my setting to look and
what’s in the foreground and background. The first layers I plan on making however are the sprites
of my characters; they will be integral to the creation of my video game as a whole so I need to
scale them all accurately before making any items, menus, enemies, or overworld objects. Firstly I
aim to do some research on 8bit/16bit sprites from pop culture then some pixel art from artists and
fans to see their ideas and creativity, with that information hopefully I gain ideas myself and use
them in my Video Game.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
Throughout production I will continuously capture screenshots of my work thus to evaluate my
process and how I think my work is coming along. Reflecting on different stages of my work allows
me to talk about every detail and all processes I go through, as well as judge the aesthetic, aural
and visual qualities to learn the strengths and weaknesses for improvements in the future.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
