Proposal for Interactive Media Product

Working Title: The Journey of Food – I chose this name because it’s based on food and it’s
something very basic and straightforward for the children so they can understand it and
know what the game is by looking at the title.
Product’s Purpose: The product’s purpose is to entertain and educate about the different
types of food. I will achieve this by adding loads of images and animating the different
characters so it can catch the eyes of the general public.
Genre: Mobile game, Puzzle game – I chose this genre because everyone uses a phone now
and are usually occupied with that and this age range will love this game because it will
keep them entertained and busy if they are ever bored.
Content: My game has different levels as they progress throughout the game. The story is
that all the foods have gone missing and it is up to the main character to find all of the
missing food. After you complete one world, you will receive one of the missing food. In
total, there is 13 levels along with some hidden pathways that contain secret powerups at
the end of the path that will help you on your adventure.
Audience: My target audience is for 13 – 20 year olds, male and female, working class and I
am hoping to aim it at people who buy these type of games. My project will appeal to this
person because I am making male and female characters for my game and there will be
different colours for the characters such as green, pink, blue, purple etc. I will also be
adding a DLC (downloadable content) so that there will be more features to the game and
also containing some costumes for the characters.
Research and Planning: In my planning, I will be using vibrant colours like the images that I
chose in my mood board and also, I am going for a cartoony setting for my game as well. In
my research, I will add a character beside the tiles where you match the food and animate
him/her. I will use my research and planning in my animating and design for my final
project.
Legal & Ethical Considerations: My product will not have any offensive material asI am
creating a game for kids and adults to enjoy. This game will not restrict any young people
and I will not contain any images/characters etc. in my game that will be offensive to
religion, social groups or ethnicities. I will be using an existing character for my app logo
and character design but will change the colours. My product will be different from existing
products to prevent copyright infringement.
I am following the ASA code which as follows:
1. This product will not lie and will be honest about what it contains along with the
features I promised along with it containing only legal content and not misleading in
any way.
2. There will also be no celebrity on any of my products without their written
permission/consent so I don’t get sued or fined for copyright infringement.
3. My game must look like what it says it will be and what I originally planned to make
so I have to follow the planning and layout design.
4. This product will not be including or promoting dangerous behaviour with the game
or pressure kids into buying it if it contains damaging content.
5. We are not targeting a specific person or group to offend with the content. Everyone
is welcome to play!
