3. Video Conference and Presentation Mode
The Video Conferencing and Presentation icon brings the control screen to the
Dialing menu. When starting the system from the powered off state, the projectors will
automatically display the near and far ends of the VTC call. Once in this view, you can
go to Source Select to route the VTC to different screens, if so desired.
From this screen, you can dial a VTC by entering an IP or phone number and the
system will automatically configure itself to “dial” via the network connection of ISDN
lines, if connected. The default rate is set to “auto”; we recommend you maintain this
setting for most calls, but it can be adjusted via the menu, if necessary.
When you need to answer an incoming call, the following screen will appear. Simply
“Answer” or “Reject” the call as appropriate.

DuoSource and MainSource buttons are used to control presentations over the VTC. If
the distant end supports DuoSource (e.g. receiving both your camera and
PC/presentation feeds), use the DuoSource function to control the presentation. If not,
use the MainSource button to control the presentation. If you are unsure what the
distant end supports, you can always use the DuoSource; the codec will autosense the
distant end’s capability and adjust as necessary.
In order to fully utilize these functions, be sure to route a PC input to the codec via the
“Source Select” menu, as described later in this document. The process for using these
functions is to first route a source to the codec via the “Source Select” menu, then turn
“DuoSource On” to begin presenting. Once complete, you can turn the presentation off
by pressing “DuoSource Off”. Alternately, you can also change your MainSource to PC
and present your slides; once complete, push the MainSouce Cam button to revert back
to your camera feed.
Layout controls your Picture-out-of-Picture settings and will display all participants on
one screen. Similarly, selfview simply shows a view of the near end during the VTC.

TROUBLESHOOTING
It is important to note that each of the components in this system has an owner’s
manual with troubleshooting guide. All owners’ manuals are available through the
system administrator.
In the unlikely scenario that the AMX Control unit becomes inoperative, switching of the
video and audio signals to the VTC and the LCDs can be accomplished manually. The
instructions below show how to accomplish this. This is just a quick fix until repairs or
replacements parts can be installed.
*Advanced troubleshooting information on all components of this system can be
obtained through appropriately trained system administrators. For further
assistance Prosis Engineers can be reached at after hours at:

MANUAL OVERRIDE SWITCHING
The HRT switcher is designed to connect any of the 8 audio and video inputs with any
of the outputs connected to the system. For this implementation, we have utilized two
A/V switchers connected in Series.
Switch
Inputs:
1 – PC 1
2 – PC 2
3 – PC 3
4 – Empty
5 – Empty
6 – DVD Player
7 – Primary input from VTC
8 – Dual VTC input
Outputs:
1 – Video Empty / Audio = Room Audio
2 – Empty
3 – Empty
4 – Empty
5 – AUX Display
6 – Input to VTC
7 – Left Projector
8 – Right Projector / Audio = VTC
To create an audio or video “tie” between an input and output, follow these steps:
1. Select ‘Vid’, ‘Aud’, or Both
2. Select an input device that you want to display or send to the VTC by
pressing the corresponding button in the input row.

POWER RECYCLE
If you are in a VTC call and communication with the Touch Panel stops you will
need to recycle power to the AMX AP. This device transmits instructions to and
from the Touch Panel and the Master Controller. Just pull out the power from the
back of the unit, give a count to 10, and plug it back in. Be sure to check the
blinking heartbeat light on the Touch Panel to ensure it is back in sync.
NOTE: IN RARE INSTANCES THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WILL NEED A POWER
RECYCLE. TO DO THIS TURN THE RACK MOUNTED POWER SWITCHES
ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PODIUM OFF AND THEN ON. THERE IS ONE ON
THE PRESENTER SIDE AND TWO ON THE AUDIENCE SIDE. THIS WILL
NOT EFECT THE KIV-7 CRYPTO LOAD AS THAT DEVICE HAS A DIRECT
CONNECTION TO THE UPS.

The default rate is set to “auto”; we recommend you maintain this setting for most calls, but it can be adjusted via the menu, if necessary. When you need to answer an incoming call, the following screen will appear. Simply “Answer” or “Reject” the call as appropriate.
  • 14. 516th SIG BDE VTC Secure & Non-Secure A/V System Guide February 2010 13 DuoSource and MainSource buttons are used to control presentations over the VTC. If the distant end supports DuoSource (e.g. receiving both your camera and PC/presentation feeds), use the DuoSource function to control the presentation. If not, use the MainSource button to control the presentation. If you are unsure what the distant end supports, you can always use the DuoSource; the codec will autosense the distant end’s capability and adjust as necessary. In order to fully utilize these functions, be sure to route a PC input to the codec via the “Source Select” menu, as described later in this document. The process for using these functions is to first route a source to the codec via the “Source Select” menu, then turn “DuoSource On” to begin presenting. Once complete, you can turn the presentation off by pressing “DuoSource Off”. Alternately, you can also change your MainSource to PC and present your slides; once complete, push the MainSouce Cam button to revert back to your camera feed. Layout controls your Picture-out-of-Picture settings and will display all participants on one screen. Similarly, selfview simply shows a view of the near end during the VTC.

  • 23. 516th SIG BDE VTC Secure & Non-Secure A/V System Guide February 2010 22 POWER RECYCLE If you are in a VTC call and communication with the Touch Panel stops you will need to recycle power to the AMX AP. This device transmits instructions to and from the Touch Panel and the Master Controller. Just pull out the power from the back of the unit, give a count to 10, and plug it back in. Be sure to check the blinking heartbeat light on the Touch Panel to ensure it is back in sync. NOTE: IN RARE INSTANCES THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WILL NEED A POWER RECYCLE. TO DO THIS TURN THE RACK MOUNTED POWER SWITCHES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PODIUM OFF AND THEN ON. THERE IS ONE ON THE PRESENTER SIDE AND TWO ON THE AUDIENCE SIDE. THIS WILL NOT EFECT THE KIV-7 CRYPTO LOAD AS THAT DEVICE HAS A DIRECT CONNECTION TO THE UPS.
