- 1. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? To create my music magazine, I used two main software's: Adobe Photoshop and Quark Express. I have used Photoshop in the past and so I was familiar with the tools and what each of them do. I found editing my front cover fairly easy and quite quick to do. However, there were a few things that I was stuck on. For example, I didn't know how to get the title behind Becky's head without chunks of it being hidden. I was shown how to duplicate a layer and rub out the title neatly around the image. I’m glad I was taught this because it makes my magazine look professional. Photoshop allowed me to add images, edit images, edit text (for example, adding a drop shadow) and add shapes. It enabled me to create a more professional looking product. I had never used Quark Express before and so at first, found it a little difficult and confusing to use. However, I soon got used to it and found it rather easy. This programme allowed me to import my images and resize them and also import my text into columns. It also allowed me to add a drop cap at the beginning of the article and a drop quote in the middle of the article. Other technologies that I have used include, Prezie and Slideshare. These enable me to display my work, and can be viewed on my blog. I have also used SLR cameras, voice recorders and video recorders quie frequently throughout the making of my products. Again, my skills and knowledge of each piece of technologies and software has improved.
