ABSTRACT
• A grass cutter is a machine that uses blade to cut a lawn at
an even length. Power consumption becomes essential for
future. Grass cutter is a very useful device which is very
simple in construction. It is used to maintain and upkeep
lawns in gardens, schools, college’s etc.
• We have made some changes in the existing machine to
make its application easier at reduced cost. Our main aim
in pollution control is attained through this. Unskilled
operation can operate easily and maintain the lawn very
fine and uniform surface look. In our project, Grass cutter
is used to cut the different grasses for the different
application.

OBJECTIVE
The main objectives of this project are:
 To save energy.
 To cut the grass required height.
 To design and develop machine.

DESIGN OF PROJECT

WORKING OF PROJECT
• Electrical energy is stored in batteries .The motor is
connected to the batteries through connecting wires. Switch
is connected between motor and battery. Switch is used to
start and stop the working of the motor.
• From this motor, motor rotor shaft is connected to the blade
.when switch on the power transmits to the mechanism and
this makes the blade rotate and cut the grass.Also we can
adjust blade height for cutting grass.
• The operator just needs to push the machine in which ever
direction he needs then he just needs to switch on the motor
as soon as the motor is switch on the cutting action gets
activated and these blades are been attached to the shaft of
the motor as the blade gets mesh up with the grass the grass
gets cut.

BLADE ADJUSTABLE STAND
• It is used for adjust of blade at required height.

SHAFT
A shaft is a rotating machine element which is
used transfer power from one place to another.
The shaft clamped between the iron frame
works and the freewheeling type bearing
attached to the shaft. The freewheeling bearing
rotates only in on direction.

BLADE
blade consist of stainless steel that are attached to a
vertically rotating shaft, to the downward direction.
The blades rotate, creating a cutting motion. It’s
important to cut lawn with a sharp blade at
adjustable height.

BEARING
A ball bearing is a type of rolling-element
bearing that uses balls to maintain the
separation between the bearing races. The
purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce rotational
friction and support radial and axial loads.

WHEEL
A Base Frame with Four Wheels of the grass
cutter. The wheels having rubber gripped, for
better moving on grass.

DC MOTOR
An electric motor is an electrical machine that
converts electrical energy into mechanical
energy. It is used to rotate the Blade.

BATTERY
It is used to start the motor with the help of
switch.it is also used to store the electricity.

WIRE
• It is used to connect the battery to the
motor and solar plate.

SWITCH
It is used to on/off the Motor.

ADVANTAGES
• Time required for process is less.
• Number of workers required is less.
• simple to use.
• Unskilled worker can also use
machine.
• It is environment friendly
• Reliable, Economical, Eco-Friendly.
• No need of fuel input.

DISADVANTAGES
• Intial cost is high.
• In Rainy season operation
difficult.
• Manual effort is required for
machine rolling.

APPLICATION
• For cricket ground.
• The football ground.
• All garden.
• All Playground.

CONCLUSION
• This project is more suitable for a common man as it is
having much more advantages i.e, no fuel cost, no pollution
and no fuel residue, less wear and tear because of less
number of moving components and this can be operated As
we are nearer to Equator, the solar energy (non-
conventional energy) is vastly available, so it is easy to
charge the battery and is also pollution free.
• But the initial investments of the solar powered grass cutter
is high. This system is having facility of charging the
batteries while the solar powered grass cutter is in motion.
So it is much more suitable for grass cutting also. The same
thing can be operated in night time also, as there is a facility
to charge these batteries in day light.

FUTURE SCOPE
• This project will made through
Automation base.
• we can also use wireless operating
mechanism in our project in future.
• It can be easily modified into automation
base so cutting time decrease.
• This project run by solar energy system.
