The taiga has very cold winters below -30C and warmer summers over 19C. It receives around 450mm of precipitation annually and is located in northern regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. The taiga has a flat, rocky terrain that is acidic with few nutrients. It is dominated by coniferous trees with some deciduous trees in wet areas. Many animals have thick fur and hibernate to survive the cold winters, while others migrate. Predators include bears, wolves, foxes, lynx and wolverines. While some large cities exist in the south, most of the taiga has low human population and the main industries are wood, mining, and hydroelectric power
