- 5. What techniques do songs use? FEARRR techniques Alliteration Imagery Rhyme Onomatopoeia Similes and metaphors Personal pronouns These are similar to poems! If you think about it, a song is basically a poem that is sung!

- 7. Task – Analysis of verse Each pair will get a verse, and identify the different techniques that the song uses to persuade you! Challenge – think about the effect it has on the listener. Why has Bruno Mars used these words?

- 12. Task 2 – Carousel writing! Everyone will write a verse, persuading that the listener are the amazing just the way they are The whole table will help write your verse; as there is 6 people on one table, the tables with less than 6 people may have to go twice You will have one minute to write a sentence, and you have to include some of these techniques After one minute, you will pass your piece of paper to your right (clockwise), and they will write your second line, until all the verses have 6 sentences.
- 13. READ YOUR VERSE Read your verse to your table and choose one verse to read the verse aloud to the class. I will decide the best verse, who will all receive a +1 point and a snack!
- 14. During the verse… On your post-it note, write down the technique and an example that you thought was really persuasive This is testing to see whether you are listening, but also whether you know the techniques!
- 15. Homework Analyse the verse on your sheet using the FEARRR techniques, and also other techniques that you have learnt today Using your carousel writing, rewrite your own verse which includes all these techniques Due Wednesday 24th February
