3. If you are on your work computer you can Sign In Using Your Network Logon
Credentials. From a home computer you will need to manually enter
user.a.name@wilmu.edu and your password.

Quick Start Guide
Answer a call
When someone calls you, an alert pops up in the
lower-right of your screen.
• To answer the call, click anywhere on the
photo area.
• To reject the call, click Ignore.
• To start an instant messaging (IM)
conversation with the caller instead of an
audio call, click Options, and then Reply by
IM.
• To reject the call and other calls, until you
change your status click Options, and then
Set to Do not Disturb.

phone number in the Search field, then select them from the results. Click OK.

Your phone has four main Views: Home, Calls, Active all, and Lines view (the default).
To Change Views:
• For Home view, press
• From Home view, press to alternate between Home and Lines view, or if you have one or more calls, between Home and either
Calls or Active Call view.
• To switch between Lines and either Calls or Active Call view, press the navigation button.
PHONE VIEWS
Home View
Home view displays icons you can select to access
phone functions. Use the Navigation keys to display
more icons.
Lines View
Lines view displays Phone Lines Favorites, and Soft
Keys.

Calls View
If your phone has one or more calls, you can access
Calls view.
Active Call
Call color indicates status:
• Dark green – Active Call
• Bright blue – Incoming Call
• Dark blue – Held Call
Use the up and down arrow keys to select a call
(highlight it). The soft keys control the highlighted call.
BASIC CALL CONTROLS
Call Transfer
From Calls view, press Transfer or and call the other party. When
you hear the ringback sound, or after you talk with the other party, press
Transfer .
Call Hold and Resume
From Calls view, press Hold . If you’re in Calls view, remember to
highlight the call first.
To resume a held call, press Resume .
Microphone Mute
During a call, press, . Mute applies to all modes: handset, headset, and
hands-free. You can hear all other parties while Mute is enabled. To turn
off Mute, press again.
Placing a Conference Call
• Call the first party, and after the call connects, press More and then
press Confrnc.
• Dial and connect with the second party and press Confrnc again.
• If you have an active and held call, press Join to set up a conference.
Entering Data
Use the dialpad keys to enter information. To backspace, press
Backspace or press Cancel.
Redail
Dial the Activation Code *66, then press Send or Dial.
Placing a Call
• Pick up the handset or press or
• Enter the phone number and press Send or Dial.
Answering a Call
• To answer with the handset, pick up the handset
• To answer with the Speakerphone, press or press Answer.
• To answer with the headset, press
• To answer a new call while on an active call, press Answer. The
current call will be held.
Ending a Call
• To end an active call, replace the handset, press , or press Or,
press End Call.
• To end a held call, navigate to Calls view and highlight the held call.
Press Resume, and press End Call.
Do Not Disturb
To enable Do Not Disturb:
• Dial the Activation Code *78, then press Send. Or press the DND
softkey
To disable Do Not Disturb:
• Dial the Deactivation Code *79, then press Send.

• Set up your voicemail:
Dial the Activation Code *62, then press Dial or Send. Or press
and then Connect. At the prompt enter the default password,
19992005, followed by .
Follow the prompts to change your password and record your
greetings.
• Check messages for your primary personal extension (if
enabled):
Dial the Activation Code *62, then press Send or Dial. At the prompt
enter your password, followed by .
• Check messages outside the office:
Call your own phone number. When the call goes to voicemail, press
for the menu.
Enter your password, followed by .
Call Forwarding Always
Automatically redirect all incoming calls to another number. When
the service is active, a reminder will be displayed on your phone. You
can also set your phone to play a Ring Reminder when a call is
forwarded. The default setting for Call Forwarding Always is off.
Using Your VoiceMail Box
To activate this feature:
• Dial the Activation Code *72, then press Dial or
• At the prompt, dial the phone number where you want your calls to
be directed and press #.
• Once the system plays a confirmation message, hang up.
To turn this feature off:
• Dial the Deactivation Code *73, then press Dial or
Voice Mail Waiting Indictor
Clears the audible (and visible for some devices) message waiting
indicator on your phone.
To clear the Waiting Indicator:
• Without picking up the handset, dial the Activation Code *99, then
press Dial or

HOW TO USE
THE CONTACTS LIST
Connect with people in your organization, or with friends who have a Skype account
1. Type a name in the Search box. As soon as you do, the tabs below the Search field change
from this: to this:
2. If the person is in your organization, stay on the MY CONTACTS tab. If not, click on the
SKYPE DIRECTORY tab. It will narrow your search if you know their full name or Skype
user name.
Add a Contact
Once you find a person, add them to your Contacts list for quick access.
1. Right-click the name in the search results
2. Click “Add to Contact List”
3. Pick a group to add your new contact to

1. Tap a contact picture
2. Tap the Contact card button to open Contact Card
Create a Group
Set up a group for each team you work with so you quickly see who’s available
or communicate with the entire team at once.
1. Click the “Add a Contact” button
2. Select “Create a New Group”
3. Begin typing your new group name
Contacts List (cont.)
Presence is automatically set based on your Outlook calendar, but you can
change it temporarily if you want to. Presence status is a quick way for
other people see whether or not you’re free to chat. Here are the presence
settings you can change.
Use Instant Messaging (IM) to touch base with your contacts right away.
1. In your Contacts List, point to the contact you want to IM. If you want
to IM with more than one contact, hold down the Ctrl key and click
each contact name.
2. Click the IM Button
3. Type your message and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
Need to add someone to the IM?
From the main Skype for Business window, drag a contact pic onto the IM
window.

Switch Between Conversations
If you have several conversations or meetings going on at the same time, Skype for
Business displays them all in one place, so you can toggle between them.
Click a tab on the left to view an IM conversation.

Find a previous IM Conversation
If you use Outlook and Exchange, Skype for Business automatically saves your IM conversation
history. To view or continue a previous IM conversation or see an IM request you missed:
1. Click the Conversations tab
2. Click the All and Missed tab. If you don’t see the conversation you’re looking for, click
View More in Outlook at the bottom of the list
3. Double-click the conversation that you want to open.
Phone Keys / Button Layout
Feature or Key Description
Speaker Provides ringer and hands-free (speakerphone) audio output.
Dialpad
Enables you to enter numbers, letters, and special characters. You can also use the dialpad keys to select
menu items that have index numbers.
Transfer Press to transfer calls to desired extension or external number – calls are automatically placed on hold.
Messages Press to see quantity of voicemail messages waiting, dial 1 then press connect.
Hold Press to place current call on hold, press again to take off hold (or press held line key).
Security slot Enables you to connect the back of your phone to a laptop cable lock so you can secure it to a desktop.

Flashes red to indicate new messages.
Home key
Enables you to press [home] from any screen to display Home view. From Home view, press [home] to
display other phone views.
Screen Shows a 2.2-inch diagonal screen with a backlight
Navigation
keys/Select key
Scrolls through information or options displayed on the phone’s screen. Selects a field of displayed data.
Headset key
Enables you to place and receive calls through a headset. The key glows green when an analog headset is
activated.
Speakerphone
key
Enables you to place and receive calls using the speakerphone. The key glows green when activated.
Mute key Mutes your audio during calls and conferences. The key glows red when audio is muted.
Volume keys Adjusts the volume of the handset, headset, speaker, and phone’s ringer.
Microphone Transmits sound from your phone to other phones.

Answer a call When someone calls you, an alert pops up in the lower-right of your screen. • To answer the call, click anywhere on the photo area. • To reject the call, click Ignore. • To start an instant messaging (IM) conversation with the caller instead of an audio call, click Options, and then Reply by IM. • To reject the call and other calls, until you change your status click Options, and then Set to Do not Disturb. To Change Views: • For Home view, press • From Home view, press to alternate between Home and Lines view, or if you have one or more calls, between Home and either Calls or Active Call view. • To switch between Lines and either Calls or Active Call view, press the navigation button. Active Call Call color indicates status: • Dark green – Active Call • Bright blue – Incoming Call • Dark blue – Held Call Use the up and down arrow keys to select a call (highlight it). The soft keys control the highlighted call.

Call Hold and Resume From Calls view, press Hold . If you’re in Calls view, remember to highlight the call first. To resume a held call, press Resume . Microphone Mute During a call, press, . Mute applies to all modes: handset, headset, and hands-free. You can hear all other parties while Mute is enabled. To turn off Mute, press again. Placing a Conference Call • Call the first party, and after the call connects, press More and then press Confrnc. • Dial and connect with the second party and press Confrnc again. • If you have an active and held call, press Join to set up a conference. Entering Data Use the dialpad keys to enter information. To backspace, press Backspace or press Cancel. Redail Dial the Activation Code *66, then press Send or Dial. Placing a Call • Pick up the handset or press or • Enter the phone number and press Send or Dial. Answering a Call • To answer with the handset, pick up the handset • To answer with the Speakerphone, press or press Answer. • To answer with the headset, press • To answer a new call while on an active call, press Answer. The current call will be held. Ending a Call • To end an active call, replace the handset, press , or press Or, press End Call. • To end a held call, navigate to Calls view and highlight the held call. Enter your password, followed by . Call Forwarding Always Automatically redirect all incoming calls to another number. When the service is active, a reminder will be displayed on your phone. You can also set your phone to play a Ring Reminder when a call is forwarded. The default setting for Call Forwarding Always is off. Using Your VoiceMail Box To activate this feature: • Dial the Activation Code *72, then press Dial or • At the prompt, dial the phone number where you want your calls to be directed and press #. • Once the system plays a confirmation message, hang up. To turn this feature off: • Dial the Deactivation Code *73, then press Dial or Voice Mail Waiting Indictor Clears the audible (and visible for some devices) message waiting indicator on your phone. Presence status is a quick way for other people see whether or not you’re free to chat. Here are the presence settings you can change. Use Instant Messaging (IM) to touch base with your contacts right away. 1. In your Contacts List, point to the contact you want to IM. Messages Press to see quantity of voicemail messages waiting, dial 1 then press connect. Hold Press to place current call on hold, press again to take off hold (or press held line key). Security slot Enables you to connect the back of your phone to a laptop cable lock so you can secure it to a desktop. Message Waiting indicator Flashes red to indicate new messages. Home key Enables you to press [home] from any screen to display Home view. From Home view, press [home] to display other phone views. Screen Shows a 2.2-inch diagonal screen with a backlight Navigation keys/Select key Scrolls through information or options displayed on the phone’s screen. Selects a field of displayed data. Headset key Enables you to place and receive calls through a headset. The key glows green when an analog headset is activated. Speakerphone key Enables you to place and receive calls using the speakerphone. The key glows green when activated. Mute key Mutes your audio during calls and conferences. The key glows red when audio is muted. Volume keys Adjusts the volume of the handset, headset, speaker, and phone’s ringer. Microphone Transmits sound from your phone to other phones.

  • #5: Your Skype for Business PIN will be emailed to you when your account is enable for enterprise voice. Please remember, if you need to sign into a Polycom phone make sure you are logged off of your PC, sign into the Polycom phone, than sign into your PC.
  • #12: Call the access number to change your temporary voice mail PIN. For ease of use, you may want to set this voice mail PIN to the same 5 digit number as your Skype for Business PIN. You can also use this access number to check your voice mails from off site.
