What  is it all about ? understanding and developing solutions that respond to the users needs  uncovering new potential  How …. Participatory design Observations Workshops Cooperation Traffic census Personas Social technologies Questionnaires User generated contents Co-creation
What  do the users think ? ► The citizens are unaccustomed to being invited to provide ideas and opinions………. ► The citizens show great interest, demonstrate a high level of involvement and commitment, when invited to participate.
What   can we obtain ? The users become involved in developing the future library. Acknowledgement of needs, known as well as unknown. Challenging the users to new approaches. BUT it is  not  the users that  drive  the process - they are  a part of it. REMEMBER to show your  respect  for the hours  contributed  to the process by the  participants.
How  is it done ? planning – planning – planning - planning ► before planning it is essential  to  “ground” That everyone participates in the whole process – all meetings etc. That you all are clear on each other and the assignment. That you are clear on the role of each member of the team. That everyone is committed to project. That you establish a meeting culture, so that all are clear on status and what is next.
before…during…after… Tasks: before:  Identify the need and find the team Grounding : Create a common ground Exploration:  Explore! Design:  Design  the workshop,  the interview, the survey……… Manifestation:  Hold the workshop, the interview , the survey …… Review the results Evolution:  Evaluate focusing on the future

methods
What did we become  aware of? It only makes sense to  implicate those who are willing. When we involve, we must  listen and act. The Organization must  be inclusive. User innovation can  open up the library. Involving can  open   up the users. Users do  not  get involved  for your sake , but  for issues they burn for  – it must have  relevance.  Personal relations  are more valued than we have been aware of. It takes time –   devote the time that is necessary.
always  remember … Rome   was  not  built  in  one day ! Begin on a scale, that you feel comfortable with.

What’s  NEXT? … .. uncovering new potential in co-creation with the users is the challenge …..bear in mind that  the citizens want to contribute. .. and…..everyone  can benefit from the participation of the citizens . .
