DOORS 9.0 Released July 25 th 2008 Major release of DOORS -> DOORS 9.0 This release covers three principal functional areas Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions Common shared functionality across Telelogic products DOORS Web Access Infrastructure – Enabling DOORS Web Access to function DOORS Discussions
Welcome ! (A new welcome page for DOORS) Easy entry to DOORS Favorites Tip of the day Message of the day Gain help fast Documentation Support Customizable Company specific entry pages to DOORS Configure to your organizations needs
User Administration Telelogic Directory Server (TDS) Common user schema across all Telelogic tools Single user account for each user across Telelogic tools DOORS Change & Synergy Focal Point DOORS System Architect Corporate LDAP TDS: User Data TD Admin Tool
Authentication Schemes Traditional DOORS Users and groups defined in DOORS “ TDS Stand alone mode” TDS controlled information central to Telelogic products Information controlled by TDS can be seen in DOORS Passwords Centralised policy control governed by TDS for all Telelogic applications Users can still change their password using the DOORS client “ TDS Corporate mode” Support for enterprise deployments Pass through authentication to large scale directories Re-use users and groups defined by central IT Support for local groups defined in TDS
TDS Benefits to the DOORS users Archive/Restore Preserves access rights if restore done to a database controlled by the same TDS Even if the archive is done prior to deploying TDS Database controlled information Database specific user settings Not shared between DOORS Databases User class local to each DOORS database Standard, DB Manager etc DXL defined user attributes Access to central server Configurable access to TD Admin tool directly from DOORS
TDS Additional Information Configuration Done via DOORS database properties Migration Possible to migrate multiple DOORS databases into a single TDS Migrate and merge users and groups All databases now share the same users and groups Password policy not migrated to TDS
DOORS Discussions Enabling the requirements review process Review comments written against requirements and documents Comments on comments to make up “Discussions” Synchronous reviews without the need to lock data Review comments sit outside of the requirement itself i.e. do not form part of the requirement or DOORS object Discussions are raised against information at a particular time i.e. baseline or current version Preconfigured discussion columns to review the review
DOORS Discussions
GUI Improvements Single column multi-level traceability column Display multiple levels of analysis in a single column
GUI Improvements Allowing a consistent usage of views and attributes Attribute and views to have an optional description Description to be used in tool tips to describe view usage Mouse cursor changes Mouse to change into a hand to show focus areas Areas to include: Link indicators Change bars
GUI Improvements Module browser to provide focus over the filter See a visual indication to see which items are in the filter Improves visibility of those line items that are of interest
RIF eXchange for DOORS Allows users to select DOORS modules for data transfer using the HIS directed RIF (requirements interchange format) Will provide the ability to include/exclude specific types of data for requirements project collaboration Exchange data (through RIF) with other RM projects not in the same physical database Collaborate on requirements with external vendors or suppliers Reliably update your data from modules being derived in parallel Features Specify attributes that will be included/excluded through RIF Filters can be applied to include/exclude specific data types Exchange data between variable DOORS versions and potentially other RM tools supporting RIF Support for minimal access rights
RIF eXchange Export/Import DOORS module data directly to/from a RIF file Specify attributes for inclusion Use filters for data inclusion/exclusion <?xml version=&quot;1.0&quot; encoding=&quot;UTF-8&quot; ?> <TITLE>Test data RIF00</TITLE> <COMMENT>RiF exchange file with administrative data but no attribute types and specification objects.</COMMENT> <AUTHOR>Stefan Hendrata</AUTHOR> <VERSION>0.1</VERSION> <CREATION-TIME>2005-05-23T12:00:00+02:00</CREATION-TIME> <COUNTRY-CODE>DE</COUNTRY-CODE> <SOURCE-TOOL-ID>Manually written</SOURCE-TOOL-ID> <IDENTIFIER>ID_RIF_File</IDENTIFIER> </RIF> RIF
RIF eXchange Availability Stage One with DOORS 9.0 Supports all supported versions of DOORS – 8.2+ For the future, Stage Two: Support for multiple modules, links and projects Migration path for existing eXchange users/customers Data transfer between DOORS databases: Offering rich meta-model Telelogic specific elements Baselines, Views, history, etc… Longer term vision to replace partition/rejoin
Any other business Improvement of performance for data transfer Images to use more efficient compression to transfer data to server Support for installation using MSI based installers Platform support Additional platforms include: Windows 2003 server 64bit Windows Vista 64bit Windows XP 64bit Phase out descriptive modules No longer possible to create description modules Still provide support for existing modules
DOORS - Microsoft Team Foundation Server Integration
DOORS Microsoft Team Foundation Server Integration The DOORS Microsoft TFS Integration allows users to drive their development from requirements managed in DOORS Traceability to be created between requirements and Work Items Make maintaining traceability quick and simple Detect if any requirements have been overlooked See impact of requirements changes on development items Features Drag and drop linking between DOORS and Visual Studio makes traceability easy to establish DOORS users can report on traceability to TFS Work Items Visual Studio users can see traceability from TFS Work Items to their originating requirement(s) in DOORS Synchronization keeps the link information up-to-date
VS work items can be linked to DOORS requirements Data can be synchronised from VS/DOORS and viewed through the external link Track Work Items Linked to Requirements TFS DOORS Interface
