This study compares computer-based testing (CBT) and paper-based testing (PBT) in computer programming education, highlighting that CBT significantly reduces students' mistakes and increases their performance and confidence. The researchers found that CBT enhances marking efficiency for lecturers and alleviates stress associated with assessing numerous paper submissions. Results indicated that a higher percentage of students scored full marks in CBT compared to PBT, underscoring the advantages of using technology in educational assessments.
