This article presents a novel rotor resistance estimation technique for vector-controlled induction motor drives utilizing a Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy controller. The proposed method aims at improving the identification of rotor resistance under varying conditions, enhancing the performance of induction motors which are sensitive to rotor resistance variations. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the TS fuzzy controller compared to conventional Proportional-Integral and Mamdani fuzzy controllers.
