      Definition: a person who does not belong to a particular profession or who is not expert
      in some field.
      Ex. The book is an introduction to physics that, despite its depth and detail, is quite
      accessible to the layman.
      I am a layman with interests on drawing.

      Solidarity

      Definition: Unity that produces or is based on community of interests, objectives, and
      standards.
      Ex. When Neha lost her hair during the battle with cancer, her classmates shaved their
      heads to show their solidarity.
      Today, us grade eights are taking the Vow of Silence to show our solidarity for the
      children who are silenced by poverty, disease and exploitation.

      Litany

      As I go to bed I spend my time to recite saying “thank you” to Jesus Christ for all of the

      everyday.

      When I get scared on the most un-reasonable things I try to optimism and forget what
      will happen next.

      Definition: a mass departure: emigration
      Ex. When the concert ended, the exodus of attendees clogged up traffic for miles
      Colorful butterfly’s exodus flies up the sky and gives a peace of happiness to different
      people in the world.

      Discriminate

      Definition: to see the special features of
      Ex. One of the important skills for judging a dog show is the ability to discriminate
      between dozen of breeds.
      The most important features in yourself and your body your smile. Because no one can
      discriminate on how you look.

      Baksheesh

      Definition: payment (as a tip or bribe) to expedile service
      Ex. “I’m sure the fact that we get seated so quickly had nothing to do with that little
      baksheesh you slipped the host” said Erica to her dining companion.
      Having to ignore you is baksheesh for having to see you talk to someone else and
      having to ask for her attention and not mine.

      Definition: slang police officer; especially a patrolman walking the beat.
      Ex. In his latest movie, the actor plays an earnest flatfoot who is bestest by some clever
      crooks.
      A flatfoot walked passed me then started running with a bag of Cheetos.

      Ex. The average time for solving the puzzle for seven minutes but some of the more
      perspicacious students solved the puzzle in less than five.
      Perspicacious is the understanding of my life.

      Torpor
      /TOR-per/ (noun)
      Definition: 1. Apathy, dullness
                  2. A condition of mental or physical in activity or sluggishness
      Ex. The magazine article provided ideas for activities designed to shake off the torpor of
      a rainy day.
      The weather channel played the viewing of the torpor cold day.

      Coruscate
      /KOR-uh-skayt/ (verb)
      Definition: to give off or reflect light in bright beams or flashes: sparkle
      Ex. The astronomy students observed the stars coruscate through a high-powered
      telescope.
