Renaissance Learning Accelerated Math Mr. Robert Batts XYZ Middle School October 22, 2008
What is Accelerated Math? Accelerated Math + Teacher’s Instruction = Success! Accelerated Math's advanced technology helps you provide the essential practice component of your math curriculum. This classroom-proven software: Creates paper assignments tailored to each student's current level. Automatically scores all math practice, including assignments and tests. Provides ongoing feedback on students' daily practice. Helps you differentiate instruction, addressing each student's individual needs.
Accelerated Math Standard Libraries Grades 1-8 Algebra 1 Algebra 2 Geometry Probability & Statistics Pre-Calculus Calculus Basic Math
Benefits of AM Personalized practice and a progress-monitoring system helps schools achieve AYP. Such math proficiency, as required by NCLB and measured by state tests, is what students will experience when teachers provide them with appropriate practice on desired objectives. Libraries can also be aligned to our school’s math textbook.

HOW WILL IT BE IMPLEMENTED?
PHASE 1 *After students have been given instruction on an objective, AM helps the teacher provide differentiated practice for each student. *Teachers and students will receive immediate feedback on assignments scored by AM. *Teachers will ensure student retention of previously mastered objectives through automatic reviews provided by AM.
PHASE 2 *As students master objectives, AM helps the teacher track them. *Teachers will monitor student progress on a daily basis using AM reports.
PHASE 3 *Teachers will diagnose specific student needs using AM reports. *Teachers will address the different needs of average, advanced, and struggling students using AM’s alternative intervention strategies. *AM helps the teachers track the progress of each student on their individual goals.
PHASE 4 *AM helps the teacher re-order objectives based on the district’s pacing guide. *Teacher will use AM reports and classroom procedures to allow students to take ownership of their learning.
PHASE 5 *Teachers will assign objectives from multiple libraries to personalize practice for each student. *Teachers can use Home Connect to help students work at their own pace and level at home, as well as at school.
What does it all mean? Students practicing the objectives in the AM libraries will: Become more confident in their math skills Be better prepared for more advanced mathematics each year Be more globally competitive in the years to come Teachers using the AM libraries will: Receive better diagnostic information to guide instruction Move students forward more rapidly, producing greater gains See state test scores rise as a result Help their schools meet imminent adequate yearly progress challenges
