This newsletter provides information on the results of peer reviews conducted as part of the ACCESS project. It discusses the peer review methodology used to analyze innovation systems in various regions across three sectors: agro-food, mechatronics, and biotech. For each sector, it summarizes the key findings from SWOT analyses conducted after peer reviewers interviewed stakeholders and conducted site visits in host regions. Some strengths identified include established industry clusters, support for SMEs and innovation, and coordinated regional strategies. Challenges mentioned include a lack of multinational human resources and over-reliance on state subsidies. The newsletter also shares experiences from peer reviewers and highlights some regional best practices in supporting innovation.
