- 2. ADDS • Active directory Domain Services centralized the network resources across the entire domain. • Active directory Domain Services used domain controller to keep this centralized storage available to network user.
- 4. Server Types • Stand-Alone:- By default on work group • Domain controller:- When domain install on it. • Member Server:- When another server join domain server.
- 5. Points to be noted for installing ADDS • At least one drive will contain NTFS partition. • DNS(Domain name server) is essential. • IP • During installation don`t change password otherwise domain never install. • Disk intigious is called forest. • The contiguous name space is called tree.
- 6. How to install ADDS? Step1: IP address configure e.g. IP 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Preferred DNS 192.168.1.1 Step2: Always disable firewall. Step3: Start=>Run =>Dcpromo=>Ok =>Next =>Next => create a new domain in a new forest =>Next =>FQDN =>GPCS.com =>Next =>Forest Level 2008.
- 7. How to Join Domain Step1: Configure IP on client PC e.g. 192.168.1.5 DNS 192.168.1.1 Step2: Right click on my computer =>Property =>change setting =>change =>domain =>GPCS.com =>OK Step3: Disable firewall Step4: Start =>cmd => ping 192.168.1.1
- 8. How to create user • User creation Start =>active directory users and computer or write dsa.msc in run. Expand domain(Gpcs.com) => user Right click on blank space and click over new user =>Fill detail =>Next Provide complex password. User has been created.

How to create user in Industry Step1: Create OU(Organizational Unit) i.e. IT Step2: Create it`s group i.e. IT Step3: Right click on domain(Gpcs.com) => new =>OU Now right click on it to create group and create users in this group. Finally make the user member of specific group. Right click over the user and go to properties =>tab =>member of =>add Write name and check it. It underline the name =>ok
