Common Name:AIDS is simply known as AIDS.  However, there is a fine line difference between HIV and AIDS. HIV is the virus that may cause AIDS.

Who discovered Aids?Robert Gallo discovered AIDS in 1984.  He also found many other viruses like Human herpes virus 6.
