AIOT, not just AI+IOT

An AIoT is not a simple AI+IoT but uses artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and other
technologies. It is based on big data and cloud computing. It uses semiconductor as the algorithm
carrier, network security technology as the implementation guarantee, and 5G as the catalyst,
knowledge and intelligence for integration.
On March 28, 2018, at the 2018 Yunqi Conference and Shenzhen Summit, which opened in
Shenzhen, Ali proposed the troika of all things: IoT, AI, and cloud computing. Alibaba Cloud
President Hu said that Ali not only regards the Internet of Things as "connection", but on the
basis of the Internet of Things, it can open up with AI and computing power and lead to a future
"Intelligent Network" (AIoT).
In April 2018, Baidu and Hard Egg signed the framework agreement for AIOT domain. Baidu as
the AI end, hard egg as the IoT hardware end, will absorb 20-30 solution providers, and the two
sides jointly screen some partners. At the same time, Baidu is also actively deploying AIOT
security solutions to provide security services for vendors.
On November 28, 2018, Lei Jun announced at the Xiaomi AIOT Developers Conference: AI+IoT is
Xiaomi's core strategy, and will not waver in the next five or ten years, and will cost 10 billion All
in AIoT in the next five years.
On December 26, 2018, Huawei officially announced the AioT strategy for the first time, aiming at
solving technical problems in the process of enterprise and industry intelligence. Huawei has
deployed HiAI and HiLink platforms for AI and IoT and will launch Huawei's new brand for smart
homes.
In 2018, an "AIOT fever" was set up, and the giants transformed into AioT. The startups seized the
new opportunities of AIoT.
However, no one seems to be too clear about what AIOT is.
From a broad definition, AIOT is the fusion of artificial intelligence technology (AI) and the
Internet of Things (IoT) in practical application. However, AIOT is not a simple AI+IoT but uses
artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and other technologies. It is supported by big data and

Artificial intelligence - deep learning is the mainstream

intelligence is to make the behavior of the machine look like the intelligent behavior that people
display." Machine learning also includes many kinds of anti-learning, One of the most
eye-catching is deep learning. According to the classification of topological structure, deep

framework. With the successful breakthrough of the deep learning algorithm in voice and visual

intelligence began a new round of explosion and began to commercialize in the financial,
automotive, medical, education and other industries.
Cloud computing - the next step is to expand fog, edge computing, and intelligent sensing
devices.
At the beginning of the construction of the Internet of Things, the earliest proposed M2M is the
connection between devices. However, with the increase of devices and the increase of
calculations, cloud computing was born and these resources can be quickly provided and
released while achieving management costs or service provision. Minimization of business

become the carrier of algorithms and communications. After experiencing the development
stage of the Internet, Internet 2.0, Internet+, and mobile Internet, based on software technology
and smart devices, IMOT is emerging under the integration of artificial intelligence, big data,
cloud computing, 5G networking technology, and semiconductor technology.

MarketsandMarkets, the world's second-largest market research organization, recently released a
report saying that the global AIOT market will be $5.1 billion in 2019. By 2024, this number will
grow to $16.2 billion, a compound annual growth rate of 26%. And MarketsandMarkets pointed
out that the effective processing demand for a large amount of real-time data generated by IoT
devices is the main driving force for the growth of the global AIOT market.
