…all becoming connected to the cloud.
Cars…
Airplanes…
Fitness bands…
TVs…

Once all devices
become
connected,
technology
becomes easier,
faster – life
altering.

But is being “connected” enough?

We need an IoT
that is intelligent
and interoperable
– meaning, all of
these “things”
need to work
together.

But first things first…

We need to
engage with these
systems in an
intuitive way – a
well-designed
voice interface.

Because within
this conversation
between man and
machine is where
the intelligence
emerges.

So now we’re connected,
conversational, and intelligent
– IoT success, yes?

devices and
systems engaging
one another to
deliver powerful

So why isn’t everything interoperable?

operating systems
want to be friends
– there’s branding
and lots of
valuable data at
stake… not
everyone wants to
share.

to create
interoperability.

competing to
promote their own

But sharing is caring
when it comes to IoT.

The blend of artificial intelligence
and interoperability will drive the
IoT ecosystem forward in such a
way that it will almost become
invisible to our day to day.

are ones that
make home life
easier, more
distinctive, and
more pleasant.

Turn up the heat.
For example: If
you’d like to adjust
the temperature
while watching TV in
your living room, the
conversational
assistant in your
smart home will
know to direct that
request to your
smart thermostat.

If you’re in your
car and you want
to check your
bank balance,
your personalized
automotive
assistant knows to
direct that to your
virtual banking
assistant.

balance?

The good news is that there are
platforms and neutral parties
emerging to connect the many
elements of the IoT.

Greenwave integrates technology
from Nuance to connect devices
and systems across consumer,
industrial, and e-commerce market

And there are other consortiums,
alliances, and partnerships driving
forward IoT interoperability.

assistants engage
drivers using data
in the car, from the
driver, and from
third-party
sources.

These in-car
systems can
access content
and services
beyond the
dashboard,
communicating
with home
systems.

So, being connected is only one
piece of the bigger IoT puzzle…

To be successful, the IoT needs to be
intelligent, interoperable, and intuitive.

The more
intelligent and
interoperable
things are, the
more intuitive
they become…
…and the more
we use them,
the more they
learn, the more
intelligent they
become.
