The current study is part of a larger 3-year study that was designed to enhance
middle-grade students’ spatial visualization and CT through engagement in
engineering and computer science tasks. In the larger study, author examined
participatory methods of instruction that blended formal and informal learning in
rural and Indigenous communities in Wyoming. Author promoted robotics and
game design clubs before, during (i.e., lunch and technology classes), and/or
after school as a hook to engage students in STEM activities to enhance their
spatial visualization and CT skills. Participation in the clubs was voluntary but
provided a pathway to broaden students’ access to STEM education while
orienting them toward STEM/ICT careers. In the current study, author focused on
teacher preparation and teacher change, as teacher participants reflected and
altered their practices in the learning context to create unique learning
opportunities for their students.

The study follows the quantitative (positivism), cross-sectional research design
to test the hypothesis empirically. Data were collected from two sources:
paramedical staff and Najam et al. 7 patients. Paramedical staff members
were asked to rate the HRM practices carried out in the hospitals and the level
of their perception about the formal procedures to carry these HRM practices and
their resulting job satisfaction. However, patients served by the staff member
were asked to rank the degree of satisfaction they got from service of that very
staff member. The purpose of study was clearly stated in a cover letter,
which was annexed with each questionnaire. The survey was personally
administrated by one of the authors.
This questionnaire was distributed across all FE colleges based in England. The
survey population was calculated using the assumption that each college had one
HR manager. As there were 269 FE colleges the survey population was calculated
as: 269 providers x 1 HR manager per FE college ¼ 269 survey population The
response rate for the national survey was n ¼ 51 (19%) and gives an overall
confidence level of 95% with a margin of error of 13%. It should be noted that the
number of FE institutions, according to the AoC (2016, 2017), reduced by 17%
between September 2016 and November 2017. The number reported in this study
(269) was accurate at the date of data collection.
However, the greater levels of uncertainty for many working in the sector as many
institutions were either closed or merged would likely have impacted on the
response rate. The responses provided by HR managers provided the selected
factors for analysis:

Empirical Analysis The study used the Granger Causality test to examine the
causal relationship between public education expenditure and HDI. The test is
based on the assumption that past causes present and/or future, and this cause
contains unique information about an effect and thus, the test is useful in
examining the cause-and-effect relationship between two variables

The results for serial correlation indicate that first-order serial correlation is marginally
significant at the 10 per cent level, but the outcome for second-order serial correlation
exhibits no serial correlation for the error term. The results for the model using random
effects, fixed effects, and GMM specifications for a period of 12 years (2001–2012),
capturing the determinants of India’s FDI inflows, are depicted in Table 4. The
Hausman test supports the use of fixed effects (Table 4). Therefore, the results for
fixed effects along with GMM specifications are found to be more suitable for
interpretation.
The coefficients for all the three time invariant variables, namely, distance, common
language, and common colonial links, are found to be insignificant using random
model specifications. The variable capturing political constraints is found to be
negative but insignificant. This implies that an unstable political environment which is
not investor-friendly discourages FDI inflows to India, though not significantly. The
variable FDI openness is found to be positive and significant, indicating that India is
able to attract more FDI with better and liberal economic policies towards investment.
The variable of our interest, BIT, is found to be significant and positive, implying that
BITs are facilitating and promoting FDI inflows to India. here.
BITs are providing a certain, predictable and investor-friendly environment to
multinational firms contemplating investment in India, thereby positively influencing
their decision to invest here.

Paper 3 - These two cases evince that cooperation in fact does exist between
Chinese capital and Taiwanese technology. In order to maintain the position of
Taiwan’s IT manufacturing, and in order to be better than the Chinese enterprises,
especially those enterprises with governmental capital support, Taiwanese
companies should indeed invest in deepening advanced technology. The only
solution for Taiwanese companies is to improve their R&D, to specialise in
manufacturing certain parts, to keep the know-how gap between Taiwan’s and
China’s IT manufacturing. As a result, the combination of Chinese capital and
Taiwanese know-how can in fact give a harsh but positive push to Taiwan’s IT

The observed cultural differences influencing the customer journey suggest that
multinational firms can gather distinct insights using market intelligence across
global markets. Multinational firms should prioritize different elements and functions
of the customer journey depending on the characteristics of the journey. For
instance, in Western ecommerce markets, the customer journey is broken up
across different firms. Thus, firms have limited insights because they gather data
only from a portion of the customer journey. In contrast, firms in China with
centralized ecommerce sites have the advantage of observing the holistic behavior
of customers for a larger portion of the customer journey. This allows Chinese firms
to better understand the innovations that customers use in their journeys, whereas
such a holistic view may not be easily available to Western firms.
The centralized ecommerce firms have a particular advantage when consumers
use multiple devices and channels to interact with them. They can integrate the
data and derive new insights into customer journey touch points and customer
behaviors, whereas firms in individualist cultures (in which touch points are more
fragmented) face difficulties in obtaining such insights. - Questionnaire

To test Hypotheses 5a, 5b and 5c, author assessed if the path coefficients
between the strategic orientations and the use of digital marketing tactics
significantly differ between e-retailers from developed and emerging e-commerce
markets. Author constrain the path coefficients per relationship in the model and
use analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare the models with constrained and
unconstrained loadings. First, we find no significance for the relationship between
growth orientations and the use of digital marketing tactics between the two
markets (Δ chi-square/df=2.86, p>0.05). However, it should be noted that the
standardised beta coefficient of this relationship is significant for e-retailers from
developed e-commerce markets and non-significant for e-retailers from emerging
e-commerce markets. Furthermore, the p value of the ANOVA is only marginally
above the threshold (p=0.07). Therefore, this result indicates that growth
orientation only affects the digital marketing tactics of e-retailers from developed e-
commerce markets.

clinical faculty that teach within the M-School are evaluated by semester course
evaluation ratings (both quantitative and qualitative), ongoing peer reviews,
extent and quality of relevant research in both scholarly and managerial
publications, and the depth of industry engagement (e.g., attending industry
events and workshops, consulting). Since M-School courses are often co-taught
with industry professionals, we assess adjunct (part-time) M-School faculty
based on depth of course-related knowledge, teaching effectiveness, and active
engagement in mentoring and guiding students in their respective career
pathways and aspirations.

websites, we find that 347 schools (73%) offer a digital marketing course, with a
range of zero to nine digital marketing course offerings (see Figure 1). Within this
range, we find that a full 27% (n = 130) of schools with a marketing program do
not offer a digital marketing course of any type. For those schools that do offer a
digital marketing course(s), the majority (36.4%) offer a single digital marketing
course. (n = 174). The remaining 36.2% (n = 173) of programs offer two or more

1.Survey data were analyzed using SPSS, Version 25. We used descriptive statistics
to describe the sample characteristics using means and standard deviations for
continuous variables and frequencies, and proportions for categorical variables.
Open-ended questions were analyzed using an open-coding, thematic approach
where two researchers independently reviewed all answers (Braun & Clarke, 2006).

Data analysis is carried out through a series of steps starting with checks of reliability
through Cronbach’s alpha and measurement and structural models. The measurement
model starts by measuring of means, standard deviation, and correlation as shown in Table

role of Procedural Justice as it positively strengthens the relationship between Human
Resource Management Practices (HRP) at hospitals with Job Satisfaction (JS) of
paramedical staff. This was a unique outcome of the research that was not found in the
previously conducted studies up to the extent the literature was searched. Analysis revealed
the significant relationship between job satisfaction of paramedical staff and their

resource management practices (HRP) with customer Satisfaction (CS) was found
insignificant without the presence of Intervening variable job satisfaction (JS) in the health
sector, and this insignificance aligns with previous studies (Rogg et al., 2001; Xu &
Geodegebuure, 2005). Another effect measured was of gender, which reveals gender
responsiveness toward HRM practices of the organization. Results reveal that female
employees are more likely to be influenced by HRM practices and it influences their job
satisfaction and casts its effects on customer satisfaction. This result is aligned with prior
study of Ismail and Nakkache (2015) stating female workers to be more responsive toward
HRM practices, as the decisions taken by HR strongly influence the task performance of
female employees

The study used the Granger Causality test to examine the causal relationship
between public education expenditure and HDI. Granger Causality test is used to
examine the causal relationship between public education expenditure by education
department, by education and other department as per cent of GDP and 106 South
Asian Journal of Human Resources Management as per cent of total public
expenditure and HDI and education index. The findings revealed that there is the
absence of bidirectional relationship between the variables. The unidirectional
relationship is observed in case of cause-and-effect relationship of public education
expenditure by education department and by education and other departments as per
cent of GDP with HDI. In this case, HDI is found to be causing public education
expenditure. However, there is a unidirectional relationship observed in case of public
education expenditure as per cent of total public expenditure with HDI. Here, the
difference is that public education expenditure as per cent of total public expenditure
cause HDI. Surprisingly, there is no causal relationship observed in any case
which implies that public education expenditure and education index is
independent of each other. This clearly indicates that expenditure on education
by the government is not able to create any impact on education index, that is,
level of educational attainment

option for China. China is global economy and to support this economy they have been
putting pressure on Taiwanese IT industry to merge with them and support them in

asked to move out of China or to merge with China.
Acquisition and Merger strategy of China can be threat for Taiwan’s IT industry. A future
challenge for Taiwan is to keep up the pace with dynamic, ever moving and changing IT

analysis of tactics used in foreign market will help them,

top 20 countries in Europe and the findings should be of great help to
implementers of makers of European policy. Europe is huge

This paper addresses a novel aspect of tourism and explores Robot effects on tourism.
Tourism research in the diffusion of robotics and AI is rather limited and mainly
idea-based at this stage (e.g. Dialo et al, 2015; Navarro et al, 2015).
This paper hopes to inspire many tourism companies and adopt new technology called
Robots which not only saves cost for them but are very friendly and easy to operate.
Automation, digitalization and robotics theoretically,
help reduce staff costs. In the case study of cruise tourism, less crew can be translated
to less staff which saves costs and provides more space and cabins for
revenue-generating guests.
The study addressed a crucial gap by asking the respondents who were children aged
9 to 14 about robotics based program and the researcher was happy to find out that the
children were satisfied, gave 5 star rating to the Robotics program. Children reportedly
enjoyed engaging themselves in the program and working with ROBOTS.
Therapists in future must think about more of such programs which engages with
children with disabilities as findings says that such robotics program help children in
development of science skills

There was increment in self efficacy scores increased from pre to post among teachers in
all cohorts.

treatment have better, stronger CT.
The literature reviewed showed that CT patterns are associated with game design.
Although game design syllabus was tougher than other course
curriculum. Once the code for game was learned thoroughly it resulted in more positive

capital of Italy in 2015 inspired the author to arrange workshop in 2016. It turned out to
be the most successful workshop and after the workshop all the users, customers and

decided that Robots re the future of many industries, commerce of many countries.
The players of Robotics ecosystem had accepted AI as successful technology and
began to advance it by utilizing it. The next workshop was organized in 2017

The workshop at CVPR and NIPS connected computation, Robotics and AI
communities.
10 percent of the paper submitted at conference in 2018 used keywords AI making
it most frequently used keyword. New workshop deadline was discussed in the work
shop. The Ongoing work on AI are focused on assumption, the author hopes to view
better unified, united approach among key players of robotic ecosystem.

between HRM practices and Consumer happiness along
with mediating variable of work satisfaction. Hypothesis was created, and tested to
check the theoretical structure. The result showed that there
is relationship between HRM practices and Work satisfaction of employee, in this case
its paramedical staff. The analysis found not so
significant relationship between HR practices and consumer satisfaction without the
presence of in between variable Work satisfaction.
Hospitals had been found to be little studied area. If hospitals practice this study in their
work area then they will find less absenteeism and

concluding didn’t measure the effectives of combo offers. The web analytics for digital
marketing was not tested and analyzed. Future researchers may add revenue earning
paid customer in the metrics. It is also worth calculating of analyzing how small
retailers benefit from digital marketing strategy which is different in different
countries. There might be more advanced tactical solution for foreign markets.

check the impact on business for the traders who have outsourced the agency for

There are many limitations of the study which needs consideration. Sample was
small with overrepresentation of male participants and
Autism children. Thus generalization of finding is not recommended. Future studies
must be done on larger sample size.
While conducting research the youth with disability was provided the support
needed and that could have influenced their experience about the
program. The measures used in the research were only done on children but not
on youth. The sample size of children was used because
children learn from Robotics program not youth. The tools must be validated for
further studies. The majority of sample used for research were
autism children and their experience and expectation could be different in STEM
program. Factors like Gender, Type of disability and age
must be considered by future researcher to explore the impact of Robotic
program and must be compared with sample of youth without disabilities.
The longer impact of the Robotics program must be studied and whether the
implication of robotic program can be transferred by school based
programs or other community based program being run for children.

To help engineering and computer science students, a focused CT strategies to

The current study is part of a larger 3-year study that was designed to enhance middle-grade students’ spatial visualization and CT through engagement in engineering and computer science tasks. In the larger study, author examined participatory methods of instruction that blended formal and informal learning in rural and Indigenous communities in Wyoming. Author promoted robotics and game design clubs before, during (i.e., lunch and technology classes), and/or after school as a hook to engage students in STEM activities to enhance their spatial visualization and CT skills. Participation in the clubs was voluntary but provided a pathway to broaden students’ access to STEM education while orienting them toward STEM/ICT careers. In the current study, author focused on teacher preparation and teacher change, as teacher participants reflected and altered their practices in the learning context to create unique learning opportunities for their students.   • 11. Methodology HRD The study follows the quantitative (positivism), cross-sectional research design to test the hypothesis empirically. Data were collected from two sources: paramedical staff and Najam et al. 7 patients. Paramedical staff members were asked to rate the HRM practices carried out in the hospitals and the level of their perception about the formal procedures to carry these HRM practices and their resulting job satisfaction. However, patients served by the staff member were asked to rank the degree of satisfaction they got from service of that very staff member. The purpose of study was clearly stated in a cover letter, which was annexed with each questionnaire. The survey was personally administrated by one of the authors. This questionnaire was distributed across all FE colleges based in England. The survey population was calculated using the assumption that each college had one HR manager. As there were 269 FE colleges the survey population was calculated as: 269 providers x 1 HR manager per FE college ¼ 269 survey population The response rate for the national survey was n ¼ 51 (19%) and gives an overall confidence level of 95% with a margin of error of 13%. It should be noted that the number of FE institutions, according to the AoC (2016, 2017), reduced by 17% between September 2016 and November 2017. The number reported in this study (269) was accurate at the date of data collection.
  • 12. However, the greater levels of uncertainty for many working in the sector as many institutions were either closed or merged would likely have impacted on the response rate. The responses provided by HR managers provided the selected factors for analysis: Hypothesis • H1 : There is causal relationship between public education expenditure and HDI. • H2 : There is a significant relationship between public education expenditure and education index. Empirical Analysis The study used the Granger Causality test to examine the causal relationship between public education expenditure and HDI. The results of the Sargan test for the two-step GMM are encouraging. and suggest that residuals of first differences are not correlated with the instruments. The results for serial correlation indicate that first-order serial correlation is marginally significant at the 10 per cent level, but the outcome for second-order serial correlation exhibits no serial correlation for the error term. The results for the model using random effects, fixed effects, and GMM specifications for a period of 12 years (2001–2012), capturing the determinants of India’s FDI inflows, are depicted in Table 4. The Hausman test supports the use of fixed effects (Table 4). Therefore, the results for fixed effects along with GMM specifications are found to be more suitable for interpretation. The coefficients for all the three time invariant variables, namely, distance, common language, and common colonial links, are found to be insignificant using random model specifications. The variable capturing political constraints is found to be negative but insignificant. This implies that an unstable political environment which is not investor-friendly discourages FDI inflows to India, though not significantly. The variable FDI openness is found to be positive and significant, indicating that India is able to attract more FDI with better and liberal economic policies towards investment. The variable of our interest, BIT, is found to be significant and positive, implying that BITs are facilitating and promoting FDI inflows to India. here.

BITs are providing a certain, predictable and investor-friendly environment to multinational firms contemplating investment in India, thereby positively influencing their decision to invest here. Multinational firms should prioritize different elements and functions of the customer journey depending on the characteristics of the journey. For instance, in Western ecommerce markets, the customer journey is broken up across different firms. Thus, firms have limited insights because they gather data only from a portion of the customer journey. In contrast, firms in China with centralized ecommerce sites have the advantage of observing the holistic behavior of customers for a larger portion of the customer journey. This allows Chinese firms to better understand the innovations that customers use in their journeys, whereas such a holistic view may not be easily available to Western firms.
  • 16. The centralized ecommerce firms have a particular advantage when consumers use multiple devices and channels to interact with them. They can integrate the data and derive new insights into customer journey touch points and customer behaviors, whereas firms in individualist cultures (in which touch points are more fragmented) face difficulties in obtaining such insights. - Questionnaire Paper2 –Emerging e-commerce markets), supporting the validity of Hypothesis 4. However, it should be noted that the standardised beta coefficient of this relationship is significant for e-retailers from developed e-commerce markets and non-significant for e-retailers from emerging e-commerce markets. Furthermore, the p value of the ANOVA is only marginally above the threshold (p=0.07). Full-time, tenure-track and clinical faculty that teach within the M-School are evaluated by semester course evaluation ratings (both quantitative and qualitative), ongoing peer reviews, extent and quality of relevant research in both scholarly and managerial publications, and the depth of industry engagement (e.g., attending industry events and workshops, consulting). Since M-School courses are often co-taught with industry professionals, we assess adjunct (part-time) M-School faculty based on depth of course-related knowledge, teaching effectiveness, and active engagement in mentoring and guiding students in their respective career pathways and aspirations. We used descriptive statistics to describe the sample characteristics using means and standard deviations for continuous variables and frequencies, and proportions for categorical variables. Open-ended questions were analyzed using an open-coding, thematic approach where two researchers independently reviewed all answers (Braun & Clarke, 2006). Our analysis was guided by our research question with the overall goal to understand what children liked most and least about the program. Analysis 2.Mixed methods were used to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data in this study. The data sources for quantitative analyses were the teachers’ pre–post survey scores on the following scales: CRTSE/CRTOE (Siwatu, 2007) and CT (Yadav et al., 2011). The DoS tool (A. M. Shah et al., 2014) was used quantitatively to rate teachers’ enactment of STEM practices and their interactions with students, 3.The results of this study reveal that teachers’ beliefs about CRT, attitudes toward CT, and STEM practices were malleable but varied by the type of context. While the results of this study are promising, using culture to hook rural and underserved students to learn essential CT skills to prepare them for further study in computer science is virtually untapped. Analysis revealed the significant relationship between job satisfaction of paramedical staff and their corresponding served Patients (Customers). Another effect measured was of gender, which reveals gender responsiveness toward HRM practices of the organization. Results reveal that female employees are more likely to be influenced by HRM practices and it influences their job satisfaction and casts its effects on customer satisfaction. This result is aligned with prior study of Ismail and Nakkache (2015) stating female workers to be more responsive toward HRM practices, as the decisions taken by HR strongly influence the task performance of female employees

  • 23. The study used the Granger Causality test to examine the causal relationship between public education expenditure and HDI. Granger Causality test is used to examine the causal relationship between public education expenditure by education department, by education and other department as per cent of GDP and 106 South Asian Journal of Human Resources Management as per cent of total public expenditure and HDI and education index. The findings revealed that there is the absence of bidirectional relationship between the variables. The unidirectional relationship is observed in case of cause-and-effect relationship of public education expenditure by education department and by education and other departments as per cent of GDP with HDI. In this case, HDI is found to be causing public education expenditure. However, there is a unidirectional relationship observed in case of public education expenditure as per cent of total public expenditure with HDI. Here, the difference is that public education expenditure as per cent of total public expenditure cause HDI. Surprisingly, there is no causal relationship observed in any case which implies that public education expenditure and education index is independent of each other. This clearly indicates that expenditure on education by the government is not able to create any impact on education index, that is, level of educational attainment Results and Discussion- HRD

Automation, digitalization and robotics theoretically, help reduce staff costs. In the case study of cruise tourism, less crew can be translated to less staff which saves costs and provides more space and cabins for revenue-generating guests. The study addressed a crucial gap by asking the respondents who were children aged 9 to 14 about robotics based program and the researcher was happy to find out that the children were satisfied, gave 5 star rating to the Robotics program. Children reportedly enjoyed engaging themselves in the program and working with ROBOTS. Therapists in future must think about more of such programs which engages with children with disabilities as findings says that such robotics program help children in development of science skills
