 Two-year, $500K National Leadership Grant from Institute of
Museum and Library Services (IMLS) began in November 2013
 Pilots programming at Providence Public Library and Cranston
Public Library, two large urban libraries
 Anticipates and aligns with new Workforce Innovation and
Opportunity Act (WIOA) legislation that recognizes potential for
libraries in workforce and education systems
 Engages partners from across the workforce system, public
libraries, adult education, technology access, and digital literacy
 Targets the needs of underserved populations: adults with
disabilities, low literacy, low digital literacy, and/or low English
literacy
 Utilizes and supports the RI Resource Hub
 Offers informal learning; assistive technology resources, support
and training; and technology appointments
