The document presents an exploratory piecewise approach to analyze traffic accident data from North Dakota between 2008 and 2013, aiming to uncover trends and peculiarities that can inform engineering design, planning, and policy analysis. Despite advancements in safety technology, traffic accidents remain a major health and socio-economic issue, prompting the need for better data analysis to address various contributing factors. The findings suggest that the piecewise method can improve the understanding of traffic crashes and can be applied in other regions to enhance safety outcomes.
