This document discusses frequency modulation and demodulation. It defines frequency
modulation as varying the frequency of a carrier signal in proportion to an instantaneous
modulating voltage. The maximum frequency deviation from the carrier is proportional to the
modulating voltage amplitude. Demodulation is achieved using a phase-locked loop circuit.
Experiments are described to generate FM signals and measure the depth of modulation by
varying the modulating voltage amplitude. Circuit diagrams and waveforms are provided.
