The Foreign Exchange Reform in China and Hedging Currency...
1. Introduction
China, one of the large emerging markets, with the implementation of its reform and opening up
policy made in 1978. China has successfully transformed itself from an inflexible centrally planned
economy to an open and market oriented economy, and accomplished remarkable progress in trade
market. China has maintained high and stable growth rates for over two decades. Since China is
becoming an increasingly important member in the world s economic scene, the movements of the
foreign exchange rate could be an important issue for Chinese firms. On 19 of June 2010, China s
central bank declared that it will further implement the reform of foreign exchange and enhance the
flexibility of RMB exchange rate (Money for life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also introduced the agency system for increasing the initiative and autonomy to the trading
companies in the early 1980, and permitted them to assume independent accountability through the
contract responsibility system (CRS) since the late 1980s. However, Iwatsubo Karikomi (2006) states
that the past reform on China s exchange rate system did not seem to have significant effects. Figure 1
Exchange Rates of the RMB US dollar (1979 1994)
(Source from Zhang, 1997)
To summarize the whole process of the China s foreign exchange reform, it can be divided into 3 main
stages. In 1994 1996, that was the first stage of foreign exchange reform, which is called stable
development stage . China started to prepare for its regaining of membership in WTO and GATT by
reducing substantially tariffs and import licenses. In order to enlarge Chinese markets, China started to
implement socialism and market orient policy and reformed the foreign exchange system in 1994. It
launched a new exchange rate policy which based on the market s supply and demand, and managed
floating exchange rate regime. China adjusted the exchange rate from 1 USD= less than 6 RMB to 1
USD= 8.7 RMB (see figure 1). The competitive advantage of China s product kept increasing in the
international markets because of the depreciation of RMB, which can benefit the exportation and
attract foreign investments. In general, China s economy, foreign reserve account, capital, and

Radical Congressional Plan For Reconstruction Essay
Reconstruction in America was a time designated towards rebuilding the South both physically and
socially as well as integrating this revolutionized area back into the Union after the devastating Civil
War. Through the addition of Constitutional Amendments as well as bills such as the Civil Rights Act
of 1866, the Radical Congressional Plan was able to fuse another race, that of the southern blacks, into
a previously divided nation. Furthermore, the plan of the Radicals allowed Federal power to
encourage a drastic change both economically and socially in the Deep South, however, not without
some drawbacks as seen from the KKK and the repression of Thaddaeus Stevens impressive plan for
economic reforms. This desire to firmly transform the South into an accepting and stable territory is

For example, the passing of the Civil Rights Bill and later the Fourteenth Amendment secured both
citizenship and the basic rights (excluding suffrage) for the Freedmen and therefore tempering some of
the worst features of the horrible Black Codes. In addition to this, the passing of the Fourteenth
Amendment required that previous Confederate states ratify it in order to become part of the Union
again, further securing and protecting an endangered race. In continuation of the Radicals plan to
reinvigorate the South was the passing of the Fifteenth Amendment which not only guaranteed black
suffrage but also ensured that any states who were still dismal would not be capable of amending their
state constitutions to take away the ballot from blacks. Although this was rash in the eyes of the
entering states, this allowed for the equality of races and created greater political opportunities for
those of the black race to partake in government either as delegates or congressmen within their

New Jersey And Southern States
For a few years , New Jersey and northeastern states have had very rough winters. There was one last
year in Hamilton Township, where school was canceled for almost a month because of the harsh
weather. This year, forecasters are predicting at least one to three feet of snow that will shut down
roads and schools for days. Even flights are affected by this storm, more than 6,500 flights in and out
of the region were canceled, and many of them may not take off again until Wednesday. New York
City s subways and buses planned to shut down completely by 11 p.m., and commuter railroads across
the Northeast also announced plans to stop running overnight, leaving workers to scramble to get
home before roads become impossible to drive on. Boston was expected to get 2 to 3 feet of snow,
New York 1 ½ to 2 feet, and Philadelphia more than a foot. The National Weather Service issues a
blizzard warning for a 250 mile swath for the region, meaning heavy, blowing snow and potential
white out conditions. Forecasters warned that the wind could gust to 75 mph or more along the
Massachusetts coast, and up to 50 mph farther inland. Authorities banned travel on all streets and
highways in New Jersey and New York City and Long Island and warned that violators could be fined
$300. Even food deliveries were off limits on the streets of takeout friendly Manhattan. Governors in
five states New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire declared

The Effects Of Youtube On The Content Creators And Their...
The website YouTube, consisting of the term You in it s name, was originally developed to foster
individual creativity and visual expression through grass roots and community run content (Cloud
2006). Accordingly, prior to the mass commercialization of YouTube, beauty and fashion uploaders,
otherwise known as gurus , used the site to share their passion for makeup and upload content of
personal interest. As guru tutorials gained a significant following, accounting for over 700 million
views monthly, brands realized the site s economic potential and began using YouTube as a new form
of marketing (Kito 2014). Thus, it will be argued that the convergence of YouTube and commerce has
complicated the website s original desire for authenticity, as content is now created with the prospect
of monetary gain. Using YouTube beauty gurus, this essay will demonstrate how the ability to make
money off of videos has negative effects on both content creators and their audiences.
Despite YouTube s origin as a site promoting personal expression, monetization has created a barrier
for amateur and everyday users. Moreover, what started...as ordinary girls sharing their favorite
products from their bedrooms has now become a site with, a production standard more reminiscent of
a TV show (White 2016). The transformation to high quality, edited, and scripted videos has occurred
due to the immense competition and ability to turn YouTube from a hobby into a career (White 2016)

Patient With Chest Pain
Chest pain can be one of the most frightening medical conditions to both the patients and the health
care practitioners. To most patients and healthcare providers, a chest pain can signify mostly an MI
while a chest pain can be non cardiac related issues. To better taking care of anyone who complains of
a chest pain, the first intervention would be the MONA: morphine, oxygen, nitroglycerin and aspirin
intervention. The next step is to have an electrocardiogram (ECG) done, and ABG, and a chest X ray.
In addition, the thyroid function level and the laboratory blood work would be ordered. According to
Buttaro, et al. (2013), other diagnosis exams that can be ordered as part of the care plan for this patient
can include complete blood counts (CBC), cardiac markers (creatine kinase [CK], CK MB, and
troponin levels), electrolytes (magnesium, potassium, and sodium), serum glucose, BUN, creatinine,
urinalysis, and coagulation panel. Knowing the differential diagnoses for the patient with chest pain is

The book Meditations wasn t ever really intended for publication; this is due to the fact that this book
is personal writings from Marcus Aurelius himself. Its his own memories and events of his life that he
went through. In book one of Meditations, Aurelius is giving thanks to those who helped him the
most. He thanks his grandfather for teaching him to be modest, for establishing good morals in him,
and teaching him how to control his temper. His father who taught him how to be modest and helped
him become the man he is. His mother taught him how to be generous, and to not be content with

You should always do good without expecting some sort of gratitude in return. You should be satisfied
with the though of being a good human being, instead of expecting a payment in return for your good
deed. Book six goes to explain how it is important to always think about the good, its essential to
control your mind and thoughts, if you can do this you can control in which way your life will go.
Book seven is about patience and how you must have tolerance. People will always try and bring you
down no matter what you do, good or bad. The only way you can remain happy during these times, is
to remain true to yourself. How you react to these situations and negativity being put upon you, is up
to you and that will determine your happiness. Book eight goes hand in hand with book seven. It
explains how you will encounter a lot in life but if you separate yourself from others, you will only
end up hurting yourself more than if you actually try and interact with the situation. Books nine
through twelve kind of tie together the entire reading. We should be sincere and honest, because that s
the only way to be good and content with ourselves. It questions why we are the way we are as human

Essay on Biography of Florence Kelley
One of the most effective reform techniques is to investigate, educate, legislate, enforce (Fee/Brown,

during the Progressive Era in the United States. During a period where women lacked suffrage, and
most didn t have steady jobs, Kelley was the head of the National Consumer s League and had a
resume that boasted affiliation with various other esteemed organizations (Verba, 1). She epitomized
independence and confidence through both her civil activism and in her personal life. Florence Kelley

Bernice Bobs Her Hair Essay
amp;#8220;Bernice Bobs Her Hair ;
Have you ever at one time or another felt like an outsider? Many people do, trying desperately to fit in

accepted by their peers and feel as though they are a part of some sort of amp;#8220;club ; that is

the short story amp;#8220;Bernice Bob amp;#8217;s Her Hair ;. He attempts to show the inner

It seemed Bernice had amp;#8220;stolen private property ; which allegedly belonged to Marjorie (1).
Sometime being popular will make one more territorial and suspicious of others which might hurt
them in the long run.
Without Marjorie amp;#8217;s guidance, however, Bernice would have stayed the naĂŻve and shy, thus
keeping her from being accepted by the popular crowd. It was evident in the very beginning of the
story that she was uncomfortable in social situations. When Warren asked her if she would like to
dance at the party, she immediately told him that is was too crowded to dance and when asked to go
out to the veranda, she muttered that it was too hot and proceeded to stand there. It seems that Bernice,
being a poor conversationalist, feels too uncomfortable being with others. In a group Bernice is more
likely to be stay inconspicuous and just listen rather that beginning or entering a conversation.
Another example of her shy persona was when Warren and Bernice sat down on the veranda. It was
apparent she was very nervous about the situation; her knees were pressed together so tightly one
could have cracked a nut between them. Bernice is also very naĂŻve and Marjorie took full advantage of
that. Her innocence led her to believe that Marjorie could make all her dreams come true, question
nothing, and following all orders from her. This is apparent at the dinner table when she announced
that she was going to bob her hair in the near

The Pros And Cons Of Voting
One example of registration laws that effect voter participation includes the House Bill 1355. In 2011
Florida voted on House Bill 1355 placing new regulations on community organization that have
helped eligible voters to register (Herron, Smith 2013). Seeing as Florida is a swing state and every
four years during presidential elections the state and its residents can determine who will be the next
president of the United States, it s important for communities and organizations to mobilize the people
to go out and vote. Although a federal judge in 2012 later blocked the legislation that was making it
difficult for third party registration organizations the damage was already done. For a prominent
voting organization opted out of doing registration drives when the House Bill 1355 was initially
passed (Herron, Smith). The implementation of the Bill influenced the upcoming presidential election
in 2012 by slowing the voter registration of thousands of Floridians. Bills like the 2011 House Bill
1355 only raises the cost in the rational choice model making it only more probable that people will
just opt out of voting because they don t want to deal with the time consuming process. When
registering to vote one must adhere to the states laws and comply with the process of registration.
Because each state has their own legislation and laws that their residents must follow, it crucial for
people to get some information on the state registration process in order to vote.

Why I Want to Study Medicine
The sun exploded into a million shades of orange. I sat, friends at each side, atop a monstrous pile of
boulders. I looked over the vastness of Joshua Tree National Park, and saw a glimpse of myself. Love
filled my soul; love of people, love of family. The backcountry has always helped me find this love; it
has been my personal northstar, shepherding me toward research and medicine. I started backpacking
at 13, trekking across the winter harsh lands of Idaho and Montana. It was difficult, but despite this, a
feeling welled within me that pushed me forward. This feeling warmed my numb fingers and soothed
the ache in my thighs. It drew me close to my friends, fostering the teamwork required. Each new trip
allowed me moments of introspection. The teamwork led to trust, trust led to caring, caring led to
empathy; eventually I understood the satisfaction of helping others. This is how the backcountry
shaped me. Over the next year many choices I made would be based on these lessons. When I was in
high school, I had no inkling of where I was going, but I tested the waters. I volunteered at the Mrs.
Tewillegar Wildlife Foundation and did a rotation observing anesthesiologists in San Francisco. I was
a green advocate and spent much of my time reading about and debating the travesties visited upon the
environment.
In my young explorations I found that medicine and environmental politics peaked my interest. In my
first semester at Pitzer College, I started to study

Goals of the Organization
Setting clear goals is a primary step that an organization needs to take to succeed. This is important as
it ensures that the organization has a clear vision on what it wants to achieve at different stages of
growth.
It also helps in defining the yardsticks, usually quantifiable measures that we can use to objectively
monitor the progress made by the organization and help in determining if its policies and structures
are working as intended.
Finally identifying your goals effectively helps in motivating the employees and improves

trading. It is built in a modular manner thereby ensuring that different systems having different
functionalities are separate from each other and thus failure of one node may not necessarily affect the
others. * Technology for non financial systems: These include

Domestic Violence As A Public Health Problem Essay
Domestic violence as a public health problem is studied from an epidemiological perspective.
Epidemiology is the core of public health, providing insight into the causes, prevalence, and control of
disease in populations. Partner abuse is defined, risk factors, prevalence, and consequences are
addressed from both the civilian and military perspectives as it relates to the batterer, spouse, and
children. Most of what is known about domestic violence from a scientific perspective are through a
civilian lens. A growing body of research on partner abuse in the military is emerging with most
studies conducted on the Army. The article reports on the results of an in depth study of the
epidemiology of partner abuse in all branches of the military. Rates of violence are higher in military
populations than is civilian populations. Data further suggests that more severe forms of abuse occur
in military families. Evidence based prevention and intervention approaches were recommended with
a focus on real and perceived barriers to treatment.
The article serves as a foundation for my paper. It is scientifically based, epidemiologically focused on
the definition, causes, distribution and treatment options for domestic violence. It supports my
position that domestic violence is a major public health issue of civilian and military populations. The
article further addresses the entire family and both the civilian and military communities. It is also one
of a few sources that evaluated all

Machiavelli s Prince
Humanism is a term that is applied to beliefs, methods and philosophies that place human beings at
the center all life and the universe. Humanists observe that the goal of human life is happiness on
earth. Besides happiness, humanism is also grounded in naturalistic metaphysics (Lamont 13). It
considers all supernatural things and beliefs to be mythical, hence warranting dismissal. It is also
conceived of the idea that human beings are products of nature rather than supernatural creation. The
earthly experience is more important than any forms of predestination or determinism. According to
humanist, human beings have choice of action and have the capacity to shape their destiny. The

In Prince Machiavelli maps a political ideology that values citizen active participation in public life as
opposed to the idea of waiting for divine repudiation and salvation. The essence of virtue is central to
humanist thought and action. Machiavelli like all other humanists saw virtue in those with power to
rule. A virtuous ruling class had the capacity for more efficient and accountable governance. He goes
on to argue that an elite ruling class was not sufficient enough for political stability. A stable political
system needs power. He observed that a political system that had poor organization led to its subjects
bad behavior which in the end resulted in it getting attacked by outside enemies. Machiavelli s project
was to separate the political from the moral and he thought this did not necessarily benefit the ruler
but the general populace. His civic humanism is found in his assertion that a prince should not resort
to mistreating his subjects. When he is feared enough, the state is strong and every citizen does their
civic duty. In the process no one is hurt and the prince retains his

Factors Affecting The Environment Of A Watershed
Introduction: Environmental issues caused by such human activities as farming, agriculture and
infrastructural development can negatively affect the abiotic factors of the local environment. This can
disturb water equilibrium and pose implications on the biodiversity of a watershed. Various forms of
pollution, including runoff and erosion, can interfere with the health of its aquatic habitats. The
purpose of this lab report is to observe to what extent the abiotic factors of Yellow Creek correspond
with the health status of its ecosystem. This will be done by comparing the levels of turbidity and
acidity and the corresponding level of impairment to four other water streams in the greater Toronto
area.
Research Question: How can the abiotic factors of a watershed such as acidity and turbidity indicate
the health of Yellow Creek?
Background information: Abiotic factors are nonliving, physical and chemical aspects of the
environment. (Rutherford, 2015) The pH level is a quantitative measure of the hydrogen ions
representing the acidity or alkalinity of a water solution. Aquatic life prefer water that has an acidic
level of around 6.5 8.5 pH. pH levels higher than 8.5 become highly basic, while pH levels below 6.5
become highly acidic for water quality. This does not allow the species to regulate basic life sustaining
processes, primarily the exchanges of respiratory gases and salts within the water in which they live.

Invertebrates And Star Fish Comparison Essay
In the Discovery Education video about sea invertebrates, there were many similarities and differences
that make each of the invertebrates unique. Each of the invertebrates had different forms of achieving
nutrients and sourcing their food. In addition to finding different sources of food, they also have
different growth and reproductive rates and styles and how they respond to their environment also
depends on their environment and their physical abilities they have as a species. One of the most
essential keys to maintaining life is sourcing ways to obtain nutrients. Like many other marine
invertebrates, both the Krill and Diablo Rojo Squid come to eat at night. The Krill prey on plankton
near the top of the water, but as a result for leaving the security of the deep sea they themselves
become prey to other animals like fish. El Diablo Rojo Squid, also swimming near the shore use the
fish, lured in by the Krill, consume the fish as their main source of food. In addition to Krill, Jellyfish
also consume plankton. Larger Jellyfish, like the egg yolk Jellyfish (Phacellophora camtschatica), eat
larger prey by stinging them to immobilize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While some invertebrates unique traits are commonly known, like how a starfish can regenerate an
arm in about a week, other abilities like regenerating shells are equally as interesting. Spider Crabs
have the ability to grow a new shell underneath their old shell before moving to warm water where
they are able to crack their old shell open and back out with a new one. Marine animals that live in the
frigid waters of Antarctica like the Red Starfish, Sea Urchins, and Nemertine worms move are very

The Importance Of Sexual Harassment In The Office
Sexual harassment continues to be a large problem within the workplace and around the world. Donna
Benson, an American writer, writes in Sexual Harassment on a University
Campus: The Confluence of Authority Relations, Sexual Interest and Gender Stratification that
Female workers have always been vulnerable to sexual abuse by male employees...In non random
surveys as many as 70 percent of respondents report harassment on the job (236). This is an
unfortunate statistic and through comedy, the television series The Office (U.S.), created by NBC, and
directed by Benjamin Novak reveals how inappropriate harassment is. The Office (U.S.) is a comedy
based around Dunder Mifflin Paper company s Scranton branch manager, Michael Scott. Michael is a
comedic and belligerent character who is unaware of his socially unacceptable humor, which shows
the audience how unacceptable sexual harassment is. Throughout the second episode of season two,
Michael Scott negatively depicts males through his humor. In addition, the way his female employees
react to his nonsense is similar to the way Jessica Valenti combats sexual harassment. Lastly, through
the use of comedy, the producers of The Office reveal to its audience how sexual harassment is
unacceptable. In Season two, episode two of The Office (U.S.), Michael Scott negatively depicts
males due to his inappropriate sexual harassment. In addition, the way his female employees react to

missed her dance recital. Lisa and Paul don t spend enough family time together since he is always too

White Heron Literary Analysis
In Sarah Orne Jewett, White Heron , I found it revealing that in the end, Sylvia despite finding the
white heron nest, she doesn t tell the hunter. When Sylvia and the hunter are initially searching for the
nest, Sylvia ... watched the young man with loving admiration and she had never seen anybody so
charming and delightful. Like many love stricken individuals, they would do many things for their
target of affection, so one would assume that Sylvia would gladly and happily tell the hunter where the
location of the heron s nest is after finding it. However, at the end of story, Sylvia doesn t tell the man.
I found this detail to be revealing to the story s meaning of being connected to nature and preserving

The Christian Martyr By Gabriel Von Max
For my observation essay, I chose the piece The Christian Martyr by Gabriel von Max, which is on
display at the Frye Art Museum, it is oil on paper, painted in 1867. I find this piece illustrates multiple
principles of design the ones standing out most clearly to me being balance, implied line, and
emphasis through repetition. Hue, saturation, and value play into most of these principles as well. A
strong sense of balance is created by the elements of the piece, namely the horizon splitting the
painting nearly in half with a light gray on top, and a dark brown on the bottom. Value plays a an
important role here, as the lower value of the brown causes the piece to feel heavier while the higher
value of the gray has the reverse effect, making it feel much lighter. The fact that the gray fills
comparatively more space in the piece creates a visually striking balance. As the gradient progresses
from very light gray to a darker gray, as it nears the horizon line, it contributes to the sense of weight

The use of the same, or very similar, colors in multiple small details creates a nice connection between
important elements of the painting, and also plays a part in leading your eye around the painting. As
the brightest and most saturated color in the piece, the orange pink used for the details of the woman s
shoes, the flowers in the man s hand, the highlight in his hair, and, finally, the light glow under the
woman s arms stands out very strongly, creating a strong emphasis on these small details. It creates
interest, and almost a sense of fun, as the viewer is lead on a journey from the woman s shoes, to the
flowers, to the highlight in the man s hair. Here the implied line, and therefore directional forces, from
the man s line of sight leads the viewer s eye up to the woman, and the final bit of orange pink color

Business Operations And Administration Services
My research of business operations and administration services in an inpatient skilled nursing facility
expanded my knowledge of the responsibilities of an affective administrator. Although there are
various business operations within the healthcare facilities, environmental services is critical for the
aesthetics and maintenance of the facility. Therefore, I selected to research environmental services and
how that department interfaces with administration services. However, environmental services does
not have direct patient care contact, but without this service there would be no patients. Environmental
services determines the aesthetics of the facility inside and outside. Consequently, environmental

Housekeeping is responsible for keeping the inside of the facility clean. Their duties consists of
cleaning patient s rooms, common areas, and visitor s bathrooms. The floor technicians are
responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the different floor types in all common area, ancillary
departments, and the hallways. Floor care is very pertinent to the aesthetics of the facility. Therefore,
all floors should be clean and free of offensive odors. Although floors are maintained around the
clock, usually the floors are stripped and waxed during the night when there is less traffic.
Environmental services and housekeeping is a business operation that has close scrutiny from
administration. Henceforth, the lack of aesthetics inside and outside of the facility will not attract all
types of families and patients. Although, environmental services does not provide direct patient care,
there would be no patients without quality service from this business operation. In my research I

Essay on The United States and World War I
Describe the events that brought the U.S. into World War I. Explain the conditions of the Treaty of
Versailles. What mistakes were made?
There were many reasons that the U.S. was brought into World War I. With the assassination sparking
the start of World War I, the U.S. didn t enter the war right away. In fact, the U.S. waited about 3 years
to enter the war. They wanted to stay neutral and thought that the war was none of their concern.
Shortly after the start of the war, Woodrow Wilson declared a policy of neutrality. They wouldn t be
involved on any side in the war, but would offer loans, trades, and sell weapons to both sides. The
U.S. stayed neutral up until 1917. They entered the war for many reasons, but some events were the

This was millions of dollars that Germany had to pay. Second, Germany had to reduce the size of their
army. Third, Germany s colonies were to be divided among the Allies. The treaty had many mistakes.
The main mistake was it restricted Germany so much. It made Germany mad and they didn t like the
treaty one bit.
How did new technology in World War I influence warfare? Do you think this was (and continues to
be) a positive or negative influence. Explain your answer with specific examples and details.
New technology that appeared in World War I influenced war in many ways. There were many new
advances in technology in World War I. Major advances were things like aircraft, aircraft carriers,
tanks, and new weapons like the flamethrower. There were also small inventions and advances like
tracer bullets and mobile x ray machines. It influenced the war because it gave new ways to attack
enemies and gave the thought of having more power. With all of the advances in weapons, it
influenced to attack and try to overcome one s enemy. It also gave leaders the thought that they had
even more power with the new advances. I think that it was both a positive and negative influence. I
am more on the positive side because it helped to defeat enemies faster and may have ended the war
quicker. I am also against it because it influenced more war, not less. In today s world, I think that
again it s both positive and negative. I am more on the negative

Gender Discrimination in Emergency Medical Services Essay
Gender Discrimination in Emergency Medical Services

They speculate about the condition of their patient, the other patients at the scene, and their co
workers. Things are beginning to return to the calmness that exists between calls.
Having been exposed to a typical accident scene that most emergency medical personnel are used to
working can be somewhat shocking. There are many questions, which arise after working a call like
that just described. The one I would like to focus on is what were the names of the EMTs and
Paramedics involved in the accident scene depicted? Jeff, Will, and John? Or could they possibly have
been Charlene, Lee, and Tracy?
Even in today s world of political correctness, there is still a very large gender bias when it comes to
certain things, such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The number of men in the field is much
higher than the number of women. Women, for the most part, are looked at as not being as capable of
performing what is required of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a Paramedic as men are.
EMTs and Paramedics are required to make split second, possibly life saving decisions, lift large
amounts of weight, and work long hours in all conditions. Since most women are physically smaller
than most men are, they are viewed as not being strong enough to lift patients or equipment in many
situations.
A personal example that proves this point happened to

The Immigration Is Not A New Concept Within The 21th Century
The immigration is not a new concept in the 21th century. Throughout history, people would travel
into new places to establish better lives. Immigration involves the movement of people from their
home country to a host country, which they are not native, to settle and live. People migrate for many
reasons; some of which include economic or political reasons, family reunification, natural disasters,
or the desire to change one s surroundings. Today, the influx of migration became a dilemma in
European nations, which ultimately brought so many people from other nations to get settled,
especially from war countries. Leaving your country into a new place might be the hardest decision in
your life you make, since you have no knowledge about it your new place. For the last few years,
thousands of immigrants from the Middle East, South Asia, and Asia are crossing the borders of
Europe illegally to look for new places and live in better. They take so much risks in their lives and
some even cannot make it through due to the brutality of borders and waters of the seas and oceans.
Immigrants get drowned in the sea. A friend of mine who left Afghanistan last year with his two
children and wife, his older son sunk in the Mediterranean Sea and died. Is it worth it? However, those
even who make to their final destinations have also have so much difficulties to get settled. For
example, some European nations do not accept the flow of immigrants because they argue that
immigrants will

India s Rebellion Against India
India s Rebellion Against TRIPS Although India signed the TRIPS agreement to much dismay of the
United States it continued to relatively subtly resist full implementation. I will demonstrate that
despite the belief of radical globalization theory that modern neoliberal globalization inevitably dooms
states into becoming neoliberal competition states, India was able to resist full fledged adherence to
the neoliberal TRIPS agreement and retain autonomy over the country s pharmaceutical market. It is
important to consider India s history and attitude towards neoliberal goals in order to see how and why
it continues to resist the attempts of the North to force feed it spoonfuls of neoliberal deregulation and
liberalization. Being a former ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously stated, India resisted compliance (Tomar 1999, p. 591). The Agreement requires
members of the WTO to provide protection of patents, trademarks, copyrights and other intellectual
property rights , essentially a protection for both process and product (Cohen Kohler, Forman Lipkus
2008, p. 233) The Agreement was implemented with the objective of protecting and enforcing
intellectual property rights so as to promote technological innovation as well as to share information to
the collective benefit of both producers and users, (Tomar 1999, 591). This objective sounds good in
theory, but it generally overlooks the fact that developing countries lack the funds and education
required for technological innovation and that the benefit of said agreement is not very collective as
the main beneficiaries of this agreement are the pharmaceutical companies of the global north, thus
directly reflecting the sentiment of the neoliberal agenda. Additionally, full compliance with the
TRIPS Afdgreement would drastically alter India s pharmaceutical market and affect millions of
people (both in India and in countries reliant on generic drugs) as a great portion of the global
pharmaceutical market is reliant on generic drugs produced by countries like India, Brazil, and South
Africa who then export them to neighbouring developing countries. (Cohen Kohler et al., 2008, p.
241). Compliance to the Agreement also meant

Computer Science Reflection
My undergraduate major is measurement, and I have spent the last three years learning about optics,
mechanics, electric circuits, and coding. Among those courses, and following three years of training
including pieces of research and coursework, I have realized that I am enamored with coding the most.
First of all, I enjoy the process of coding and verifying and adjusting the program. Taking my digital
signal processor coursework as an example, after I finished writing the code, it appeared that the code
might not have been correct because I could not receive the right temperature. So I set the program to
a debug mode and run every single step of my code and observed the feedback value. This was a very
diversion for me. With the criticism comes about because of single step investigating, I made a couple
of theories about the issue, for example, the time postponed is not sufficiently exact, or I might be
coding about the wrong sticks. So I checked these hypotheses one by one, and for reasons unknown,
the issue is the piece of my program concerning time deferring because the segment I used to quantify
temperature which is DS18B20 is extremely strict on timing arrangement. Getting the right outcome is
exceptionally fulfilling, so is the procedure because through speculation autonomously I procure much
involvement and capability. Another thing that intrigues me regarding computer science comes from
what I have learned through our research requirement in theory and technology

Economic Turmoil Of Latvi A Case Study Presenting The...
Economic Turmoil in Latvia is a case study presenting the economic challenges with Latvia. Latvia is
a country of approximately 2.5 million people, and is part of the Baltic States. When the Soviet Union
collapsed, Latvia who is one of the three Baltic States gained its independence. Latvia was doing well
and was experiencing fast economic growth power driven by a vibrant private sector (Hill, 2014). The
following case study will elaborate more on Latvia economic condition and present questions about
the case study.
In 2004 the country joined the European Union and pegged it currency, the lat, to the value of the euro
(Hill, 2014). Latvia goal was to later adopt the euro. Latvia used a variation of a system known as a
currency bond, in order to sustain parity against the euro. Warnings started to surface in 2006
indicating the Latvian economy might be in trouble (Hill, 2014). The economy was thriving because
of inflow of foreign money into Latvian banks, mostly from Russia. These funds were being used to
finance lending. It was suggested to the government to restrain lending by raising interest rates.
However, these suggestion were ignored, and what the government failed to do...the market did
anyway (Hill, 2014).
It was in 2008 that the boom unraveled as the global economic crisis of over evaluation of U.S.
properties, expanded into other countries around the world. Latvia however, started to experience
trouble when Parex, the nation s largest bank, exposed it was in finance

Sigmund Freud Essay
Sigmund Freud is known to be one of the most prominent scholars on research and thoughts regarding
human nature. Freud is acknowledged for establishing out of the box theories with dominant concepts
that are backed up by good evidence. Freud s arguments are quite convincing, but very controversial.
When thoughts get controversial, a loss of strength for an argument occurs. Freud feels that religion is
a psychological anguish and suffering. (Webster, 2003) For Freud, religion attempts to influence
individuals psychologically in order to enhance wish fulfillment, infantile sexuality, Oedipal Complex,
and dominating humanity all over the world. (Webster, 2003) Sigmund Freud referred himself as a

(Freud, 1917) I completely disagree with what Freud is saying, just because our ancestors believed in
religion and it was passed down, we are in a day and age where we are all very open. More and more
atheist is present and religion is not imposed on individuals. Freud claims that theories need to be
supported with proof to be valid and religion cannot do that. I disagree even though prophets and God
has not written themselves; the scriptures are in fact overlapping in material about incidences and
events that had occurred. For instance, in Christianity the Gospels within the bible there are three
synoptic Gospels that every much touch upon the same incidences, they were all written at different
times. If these scriptures were not accurate then why are there so many overlaps amongst them. Freud
states that religion pressures and suppresses people. (Freud, 1917) I think that religion is a personal
choice if you believe in a religion that s good and if you do not that s good to. It is an individual s
choice to make and no one can affect that decision. Religious ideas have the strongest influence and
impact on humanity till today, stated Freud. (Freud, 1917) Humans are very intelligent creatures, if
religion has such a strong hold on us, there has to be some truth behind it. Freud believes that religious
ideas, teaching, and experiences are all

How Copyright Law Was Established, And How The...
Nowadays, most of American institutions require the students to sign the plagiarism form before
attending the class in order to prevent their students from taking somebody s work without giving
credits. I believe intellectual laws are as important as any other law because it defines the ethical
aspect of the three core values of the United States of America liberty, freedom and democracy.
Copyright law is an intellectual law that grants ownership to the author and protects the author from
copyright infringement. This paper will discuss how copyright law was established, and how the
establishment influences advertising. I begin by examining the history of copyright before it became a
constitutional law. I will also explain why the copyright is protected under the First Amendment. After
that, I will interpret some significant copyright acts that had been established since it first started, but
my main focus will be on the role of fair use in the Copyright Act of 1976, which set up the primary
basis for the copyright laws in the United States. The investigation will demonstrate how fair use
relates to copyright matters in advertising, or commercial speech . The conclusion will emphasize the
significance of fair use in advertising.
The copyright law in America originated in the fifteenth century after England introduced the use of
the printing press. Due to the growth in the number of printing presses, the authorities began to seek
the control of the publication of

  • 2. The Foreign Exchange Reform in China and Hedging Currency... 1. Introduction China, one of the large emerging markets, with the implementation of its reform and opening up policy made in 1978. China has successfully transformed itself from an inflexible centrally planned economy to an open and market oriented economy, and accomplished remarkable progress in trade market. China has maintained high and stable growth rates for over two decades. Since China is becoming an increasingly important member in the world s economic scene, the movements of the foreign exchange rate could be an important issue for Chinese firms. On 19 of June 2010, China s central bank declared that it will further implement the reform of foreign exchange and enhance the flexibility of RMB exchange rate (Money for life ... It also introduced the agency system for increasing the initiative and autonomy to the trading companies in the early 1980, and permitted them to assume independent accountability through the contract responsibility system (CRS) since the late 1980s. However, Iwatsubo Karikomi (2006) states that the past reform on China s exchange rate system did not seem to have significant effects. Figure 1 Exchange Rates of the RMB US dollar (1979 1994) (Source from Zhang, 1997) To summarize the whole process of the China s foreign exchange reform, it can be divided into 3 main stages. In 1994 1996, that was the first stage of foreign exchange reform, which is called stable development stage . China started to prepare for its regaining of membership in WTO and GATT by reducing substantially tariffs and import licenses. In order to enlarge Chinese markets, China started to implement socialism and market orient policy and reformed the foreign exchange system in 1994. It launched a new exchange rate policy which based on the market s supply and demand, and managed floating exchange rate regime. China adjusted the exchange rate from 1 USD= less than 6 RMB to 1 USD= 8.7 RMB (see figure 1). The competitive advantage of China s product kept increasing in the international markets because of the depreciation of RMB, which can benefit the exportation and attract foreign investments. • 3. Radical Congressional Plan For Reconstruction Essay Reconstruction in America was a time designated towards rebuilding the South both physically and socially as well as integrating this revolutionized area back into the Union after the devastating Civil War. Through the addition of Constitutional Amendments as well as bills such as the Civil Rights Act of 1866, the Radical Congressional Plan was able to fuse another race, that of the southern blacks, into a previously divided nation. Furthermore, the plan of the Radicals allowed Federal power to encourage a drastic change both economically and socially in the Deep South, however, not without some drawbacks as seen from the KKK and the repression of Thaddaeus Stevens impressive plan for economic reforms. For example, the passing of the Civil Rights Bill and later the Fourteenth Amendment secured both citizenship and the basic rights (excluding suffrage) for the Freedmen and therefore tempering some of the worst features of the horrible Black Codes. In addition to this, the passing of the Fourteenth Amendment required that previous Confederate states ratify it in order to become part of the Union again, further securing and protecting an endangered race. In continuation of the Radicals plan to reinvigorate the South was the passing of the Fifteenth Amendment which not only guaranteed black suffrage but also ensured that any states who were still dismal would not be capable of amending their state constitutions to take away the ballot from blacks. Although this was rash in the eyes of the entering states, this allowed for the equality of races and created greater political opportunities for those of the black race to partake in government either as delegates or congressmen within their ... There was one last year in Hamilton Township, where school was canceled for almost a month because of the harsh weather. This year, forecasters are predicting at least one to three feet of snow that will shut down roads and schools for days. Even flights are affected by this storm, more than 6,500 flights in and out of the region were canceled, and many of them may not take off again until Wednesday. New York City s subways and buses planned to shut down completely by 11 p.m., and commuter railroads across the Northeast also announced plans to stop running overnight, leaving workers to scramble to get home before roads become impossible to drive on. Boston was expected to get 2 to 3 feet of snow, New York 1 ½ to 2 feet, and Philadelphia more than a foot. The National Weather Service issues a blizzard warning for a 250 mile swath for the region, meaning heavy, blowing snow and potential white out conditions. Forecasters warned that the wind could gust to 75 mph or more along the Massachusetts coast, and up to 50 mph farther inland. Authorities banned travel on all streets and highways in New Jersey and New York City and Long Island and warned that violators could be fined $300. • 5. The Effects Of Youtube On The Content Creators And Their... The website YouTube, consisting of the term You in it s name, was originally developed to foster individual creativity and visual expression through grass roots and community run content (Cloud 2006). Accordingly, prior to the mass commercialization of YouTube, beauty and fashion uploaders, otherwise known as gurus , used the site to share their passion for makeup and upload content of personal interest. As guru tutorials gained a significant following, accounting for over 700 million views monthly, brands realized the site s economic potential and began using YouTube as a new form of marketing (Kito 2014). Thus, it will be argued that the convergence of YouTube and commerce has complicated the website s original desire for authenticity, as content is now created with the prospect of monetary gain. Using YouTube beauty gurus, this essay will demonstrate how the ability to make money off of videos has negative effects on both content creators and their audiences. Despite YouTube s origin as a site promoting personal expression, monetization has created a barrier for amateur and everyday users. Moreover, what started...as ordinary girls sharing their favorite products from their bedrooms has now become a site with, a production standard more reminiscent of a TV show (White 2016). Without Marjorie amp;#8217;s guidance, however, Bernice would have stayed the naĂŻve and shy, thus keeping her from being accepted by the popular crowd. It was evident in the very beginning of the story that she was uncomfortable in social situations. When Warren asked her if she would like to dance at the party, she immediately told him that is was too crowded to dance and when asked to go out to the veranda, she muttered that it was too hot and proceeded to stand there. It seems that Bernice, being a poor conversationalist, feels too uncomfortable being with others. • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Voting One example of registration laws that effect voter participation includes the House Bill 1355. In 2011 Florida voted on House Bill 1355 placing new regulations on community organization that have helped eligible voters to register (Herron, Smith 2013). Seeing as Florida is a swing state and every four years during presidential elections the state and its residents can determine who will be the next president of the United States, it s important for communities and organizations to mobilize the people to go out and vote. Although a federal judge in 2012 later blocked the legislation that was making it difficult for third party registration organizations the damage was already done. For a prominent voting organization opted out of doing registration drives when the House Bill 1355 was initially passed (Herron, Smith). The implementation of the Bill influenced the upcoming presidential election in 2012 by slowing the voter registration of thousands of Floridians. Bills like the 2011 House Bill 1355 only raises the cost in the rational choice model making it only more probable that people will just opt out of voting because they don t want to deal with the time consuming process. • 12. Why I Want to Study Medicine The sun exploded into a million shades of orange. I sat, friends at each side, atop a monstrous pile of boulders. I looked over the vastness of Joshua Tree National Park, and saw a glimpse of myself. Love filled my soul; love of people, love of family. The backcountry has always helped me find this love; it has been my personal northstar, shepherding me toward research and medicine. I started backpacking at 13, trekking across the winter harsh lands of Idaho and Montana. It was difficult, but despite this, a feeling welled within me that pushed me forward. This feeling warmed my numb fingers and soothed the ache in my thighs. It drew me close to my friends, fostering the teamwork required. Each new trip allowed me moments of introspection. The teamwork led to trust, trust led to caring, caring led to empathy; eventually I understood the satisfaction of helping others. This is how the backcountry shaped me. Over the next year many choices I made would be based on these lessons. When I was in high school, I had no inkling of where I was going, but I tested the waters. I volunteered at the Mrs. Tewillegar Wildlife Foundation and did a rotation observing anesthesiologists in San Francisco. A virtuous ruling class had the capacity for more efficient and accountable governance. He goes on to argue that an elite ruling class was not sufficient enough for political stability. A stable political system needs power. He observed that a political system that had poor organization led to its subjects bad behavior which in the end resulted in it getting attacked by outside enemies. Machiavelli s project was to separate the political from the moral and he thought this did not necessarily benefit the ruler but the general populace. • 18. Factors Affecting The Environment Of A Watershed Introduction: Environmental issues caused by such human activities as farming, agriculture and infrastructural development can negatively affect the abiotic factors of the local environment. This can disturb water equilibrium and pose implications on the biodiversity of a watershed. Various forms of pollution, including runoff and erosion, can interfere with the health of its aquatic habitats. The purpose of this lab report is to observe to what extent the abiotic factors of Yellow Creek correspond with the health status of its ecosystem. This will be done by comparing the levels of turbidity and acidity and the corresponding level of impairment to four other water streams in the greater Toronto area. Research Question: How can the abiotic factors of a watershed such as acidity and turbidity indicate the health of Yellow Creek? Background information: Abiotic factors are nonliving, physical and chemical aspects of the environment. (Rutherford, 2015) The pH level is a quantitative measure of the hydrogen ions representing the acidity or alkalinity of a water solution. Aquatic life prefer water that has an acidic level of around 6.5 8.5 pH. pH levels higher than 8.5 become highly basic, while pH levels below 6.5 become highly acidic for water quality. This does not allow the species to regulate basic life sustaining processes, primarily the exchanges of respiratory gases and salts within the water in which they live. • 21. Invertebrates And Star Fish Comparison Essay In the Discovery Education video about sea invertebrates, there were many similarities and differences that make each of the invertebrates unique. Each of the invertebrates had different forms of achieving nutrients and sourcing their food. In addition to finding different sources of food, they also have different growth and reproductive rates and styles and how they respond to their environment also depends on their environment and their physical abilities they have as a species. One of the most essential keys to maintaining life is sourcing ways to obtain nutrients. Like many other marine invertebrates, both the Krill and Diablo Rojo Squid come to eat at night. The Krill prey on plankton near the top of the water, but as a result for leaving the security of the deep sea they themselves become prey to other animals like fish. El Diablo Rojo Squid, also swimming near the shore use the fish, lured in by the Krill, consume the fish as their main source of food. In addition to Krill, Jellyfish also consume plankton. The Christian Martyr By Gabriel Von Max For my observation essay, I chose the piece The Christian Martyr by Gabriel von Max, which is on display at the Frye Art Museum, it is oil on paper, painted in 1867. I find this piece illustrates multiple principles of design the ones standing out most clearly to me being balance, implied line, and emphasis through repetition. Hue, saturation, and value play into most of these principles as well. A strong sense of balance is created by the elements of the piece, namely the horizon splitting the painting nearly in half with a light gray on top, and a dark brown on the bottom. Value plays a an important role here, as the lower value of the brown causes the piece to feel heavier while the higher value of the gray has the reverse effect, making it feel much lighter. The fact that the gray fills comparatively more space in the piece creates a visually striking balance. As the gradient progresses from very light gray to a darker gray, as it nears the horizon line, it contributes to the sense of weight in the sky ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It creates interest, and almost a sense of fun, as the viewer is lead on a journey from the woman s shoes, to the flowers, to the highlight in the man s hair. The Agreement requires members of the WTO to provide protection of patents, trademarks, copyrights and other intellectual property rights , essentially a protection for both process and product (Cohen Kohler, Forman Lipkus 2008, p. 233) The Agreement was implemented with the objective of protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights so as to promote technological innovation as well as to share information to the collective benefit of both producers and users, (Tomar 1999, 591). This objective sounds good in theory, but it generally overlooks the fact that developing countries lack the funds and education required for technological innovation and that the benefit of said agreement is not very collective as the main beneficiaries of this agreement are the pharmaceutical companies of the global north, thus directly reflecting the sentiment of the neoliberal agenda. Additionally, full compliance with the TRIPS Afdgreement would drastically alter India s pharmaceutical market and affect millions of people (both in India and in countries reliant on generic drugs) as a great portion of the global pharmaceutical market is reliant on generic drugs produced by countries like India, Brazil, and South Africa who then export them to neighbouring developing countries. Latvia is a country of approximately 2.5 million people, and is part of the Baltic States. When the Soviet Union collapsed, Latvia who is one of the three Baltic States gained its independence. Latvia was doing well and was experiencing fast economic growth power driven by a vibrant private sector (Hill, 2014). The following case study will elaborate more on Latvia economic condition and present questions about the case study. In 2004 the country joined the European Union and pegged it currency, the lat, to the value of the euro (Hill, 2014). Latvia goal was to later adopt the euro. Latvia used a variation of a system known as a currency bond, in order to sustain parity against the euro. Warnings started to surface in 2006 indicating the Latvian economy might be in trouble (Hill, 2014). The economy was thriving because of inflow of foreign money into Latvian banks, mostly from Russia. These funds were being used to finance lending. It was suggested to the government to restrain lending by raising interest rates. However, these suggestion were ignored, and what the government failed to do...the market did anyway (Hill, 2014). I disagree even though prophets and God has not written themselves; the scriptures are in fact overlapping in material about incidences and events that had occurred. For instance, in Christianity the Gospels within the bible there are three synoptic Gospels that every much touch upon the same incidences, they were all written at different times.
