- 2. POP MAGAZINE Title The title of the magazine ‘Carly’s Confessions! Has purposely been chosen by the editor as it alliterates and rolls of the tongue when read. It also contains the ‘confessions’ which draws the reader in and creates a scenario where the reader believes they have an insight into the artists life. The coloring of the text contradicts one another and again draws the reader in sub consciously. The font is also large and clear to read as younger a younger demographic shows that younger people like information to be quick easy to read and accurate. Background The background of this page relates to the demographic which in this case is usually female teens that are into pop music and studies show that the specific demographic enjoy a light feminine colour palate and in this case it is pink and orange. This colour palate is very light on the eyes and does not distract the reader away from the article. It can also convey the season in present time of the article being published such as summer. Main Image The image shown across the double page spread is of the artist posing as a fun average modern day teen. The image purposely tries to make the artist seem comfortable to relate to modern day teens such as the clothes hair and even accessories such as the roller blades. The fact she is shown bare contradicts the title of the page which is ‘Confessions’. This tells the reader even though the artist looks innocent in the picture she has secrets and confessions also. Text The text shown in the article is concise and paragraphed which breaks it up making it seem easier to digest and intake. It is shown above a white background to be a convenience to the reader and only shows color in the sub headings to navigate easier. Sub-Images The sub images are the extras and add-ons of the page to show a little extra about the artist themselves whether it’s a backstage breakdown to a artist interview.
- 3. CLASSICAL MAGAZINE Main image The main image on this magazine is of 4 men dressed up in odd suits. Presumably to suit the fashion or the ‘craze’ at said time period when this was published. The image also the background in one which is rare that happens as modern magazines have a main image and a light background to go with the main image or even to contradict it depending on the circumstance. Background As mentioned before in the Main image the background and Main image are one to give the subtle effect and to create emphasis on the main image. The background in general is black and can relate to space hence the weird costumes worn by the artists themselves. The lighting contrasts as at the bottom it is lighter but significantly gets darker as it rises which again can relate to space theme. Text The text shown is white in correspondence to the background which is black and gives the article a big emphasis no matter how much text there actually is. It also makes it clearer and easier to read. Drop Caps There is Drop Caps used at the start of the article to create more emphasis on the text and what is being said. It almost makes the reader want to read on and keeps there attention.
