This document analyzes the operating performance of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India's largest public sector telecom company, from 2007-2017. It finds that BSNL's revenue from basic telephone services declined significantly over this period as cellular services revenue increased dramatically. Revenue from broadband services also increased steadily. While operating expenses, especially employee costs, increased annually, BSNL's EBITDA declined initially but then became positive and increased after 2014-2015. The analysis concludes that BSNL's revenue structure shifted away from basic services towards cellular and broadband as these segments grew.
