This document discusses three editing techniques:
1) Match on action, which cuts between shots to portray continuous action. The author learned this helps audiences follow scenes clearly.
2) The 180 degree rule, which maintains relationships between subjects during conversations. The author learned this engages audiences and clarifies who is speaking. However, an overview shot was shaky.
3) Shot reverse shot, which cuts between characters in a conversation. The author learned this engages audiences and shows relationships and conversations in depth, helping audiences follow who is in the scene. Using this technique will help film conversations clearly.
