The study examines the implementation of project-based learning (PBL) in database design within a Chinese junior college, focusing on its effects on student engagement and learning outcomes. Results indicate that PBL enhances students' awareness and enthusiasm for database design, fostering active learning and practical skills applicable to real-world challenges. The comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test scores demonstrates higher average performance in the PBL group, suggesting its effectiveness over traditional teaching methods.
