We introduce you to the
A hackathon is a collaborative and time-limited event, where
developers and programmers come together to intensively work on
innovative projects.
They span hours to days, promoting creativity and problem-solving.
Participants form teams, brainstorm ideas,and then code and
build functional solutions
These events cultivate skills, networking, and idea exchange, driving
tech innovation.
But wait, What is a Hackathon?
The Google Developer Student Clubs
2023 Solution Challenge mission is to
solve for one of the United Nations’ 17
Sustainable Development Goals using
Google technology.
Why Solution Challenge?
What are the 17 UN SDG?
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of
17 global goals adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015
as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
These goals aim to address a range of interconnected challenges and
promote sustainability in economic, social, and environmental
dimensions.
Eligibility:
Android and Solution challenge that is Discover Design develop
SUBMISSION CRITERIA
1. Project Setup (10 points)
Define the challenge in a concise statement and Identify the UN SDG guiding your
solution.
2. Implementation (10 points)
Outline your solution's architecture and its key components' responsibilities AND
Justify your choice of products and platforms for implementing these components.
3. Feedback/testing/iteration:(10 points)
Detail the user testing process, share three feedback points received and
improvements made.
Discuss a coding challenge encountered, steps taken to resolve it, decisions made
during the process.
SUBMISSION CRITERIA
4. Success and completion of solution:
Describe how your solution addresses the challenge, measuring success with Google
tech and meaningful data.
Upload a 2-minute demo video showcasing the working app, user interaction, and
Google product integration.
5. Scalability:
Envision the future steps for your project and strategies to expand its reach.
Detail how your solution's technical architecture enables scaling for a larger audience.
In person help sessions for teams to get guidance from experts to enhance the
quality of solutions before the final submission of projects for selection under top
100 solutions.
To participate in the regional bootcamp, interested teams must :
- Have registered for Solution Challenge before submitting the entry for evaluation.
- Submit a solution for evaluation between Jan 4th - January 20th.
- Uses Gen AI and Google Cloud as one of the technologies in the project.

The primary languages used for Android development are:
Kotlin: Google's preferred language, known for its conciseness and safety.
Java: The traditional language used for Android development, still widely
used and supported.
