- 6. Aperture The Aperture is how much light is being allowed through the lens. You can control the aperture manually in either ‘MANUAL’ mode, or in ‘APERTURE PRIORITY’ mode. Aperture Priority mode allows you to control the aperture yourself, and the camera will, if possible, set the correct shutter speed to expose your picture correctly.
