The Proposal to Raise the Driving Age is Misguided
My state legislature is currently considering raising the minimum legal driving age from 16 to 18 years old. However, I do not believe this proposal is well-founded or will achieve the intended goal of increasing safety on our roads. There are several reasons why maintaining the status quo of 16 years old is the better option.
